I don't know anything about Rubin, but if she is as "principled" as she seems to be in this exchange concerning the LA Times, I would expect her to resign as well.

Are any of you betting on this race? I like Harris at the current of odds of 34 or 35% but I'm not sure how it really works. What site to use, how secure it is, ect.

I'm not even sure what the payoff would be at somebody's certain % to win with no point spread or anything like that. What do you guys think?

From what I thought I heard, you can’t bet on the race if you’re in the U.S. Only people outside the US. I’m assuming there is a law.

If I was going to bet on Kamala, I would wait longer to buy low. Trump seems to be rocketing up in the betting markets and if you believe the polls, could nearly tie or even win the popular vote. I can imagine Kamala pulling off the election because of all of the obvious disdain for Trump, but I can’t really imagine the Kamala campaign doing anything the next 10 days to gain any momentum on Trump.

I do. Democrat's future depends on it. In the past they relied on young voters, but the birthrate has been on a steady decline since 2007 and they have to look for alternatives. There has been a natural pipeline. When voters are young and impressionable, they vote on the left. When they grow up and experience the realities of the world, they tend to wise up and vote more conservative. Unfortunately for the dems, the pool of young naive voters is decreasing and immigrants are a potential solution.

Im not sure if they will necessarily get a significant return on votes for this 2024 election but they are making an investment as they need to figure something out for the future to avoid extinction.

Not arguing this at all. I don't know the details of the bill and can only speculate on Trump's motive. Regardless a change at the end of Biden's term cannot begin to make up for 3.5 years of turning a blind eye to millions of illegal immigrants.

Not true. That bill was loaded with bull shit and was far from a resolution. Bipartisan my ass as 6 Dems voted against it. Trump had the most secure boarder any of us have ever seen.
