It's legit bizzaro world coming on here vs what I see on other social media. I did not watch the interview, I have better stuff to do with my time, but I swear to you guys my feed is all about Harris crushing it.

I paused it at 30 seconds... there were a lot of Fords in Europe the last two times I was over there. I just did a Google search to make sure I wasn't crazy and yeah... Ford does appear to be collapsing over there. Sales down almost 50% since 2017. But it appears to have to do with how they got rid of their popular hatchback that everyone liked, not tariffs.

And a lot of the tariffs Trump put in last time around were effective, but others caused major issues and were super counterproductive (see: soy beans). Everything is connected. And the way Trump is presenting these tariffs "they won't raise your price, they will make us money" is disconnected from reality. He is proposing 20% across the board, he is not proposing "don't tax stuff we don't make" like the guy in that video suggests.

In fairness to Trump, Biden kept a lot of Trump tariffs in place and hit China harder on EVs and semiconductors. I felt like Trump's 2016 position "get tough on China who is ripping us off" was pretty spot on, there was just some issues with implementation/execution... his 2024 position of "tax literally everything" is whack though.

Trump is a simpleton. We all know this. He comes at every problem with a hammer. Sometimes it's what is needed, other times, it's destructive. Pro Trump people overestimate his successes and underestimate his destruction. Anti Trump people are the complete opposite. Like most things in life, it's shades of gray.

As you've pointed out, in fairness, some of his deals worked. He's spoken of them in some of his recent long-form interviews that he's done online. I'm not suggesting he's a master negotiating genius, but it'd be complete TDS to say that he hasn't helped in some ways with the structuring of trade deals in a way that better suits Americans. (Clearly, because as you've pointed out, Biden kept a lot of those deals in place....quietly, I'd add). However, again, not all problems require a hammer and sometimes the results don't help a situation, rather they make it worse. I feel most of his proposals are typical Trump simpleton strong arm where his first offer is wildly outlandish and rarely comes to fruition. TBD, I guess.

It's legit bizzaro world coming on here vs what I see on other social media. I did not watch the interview, I have better stuff to do with my time, but I swear to you guys my feed is all about Harris crushing it.

Typical echo chamber stuff, man. We all live in our respective bubbles. I recommend to everyone to follow more people with whom they disagree. Easiest way to avoid being gaslit (by either side). It's never as bad, or as good, as it seems.

I am thinking I'll leave the top of the ballot blank too, being in ND let's me do many protest votes.
Easy for those of us in non swing states to do this, with these candidates. It's kind of sad in multiple ways. This election feels like we were truly robbed of a choice. The DNC did DNC things again with no primary. RNC primary was a joke, cause Trump refused to participate in any debate. Would've loved to see how he would've performed and if it would've still led to him being on the top of the ballot.

I'm just not a fan of either direction both parties have gone and continue to go down. Anyone that can take a step back and be objective should be able to see the other sides obvious grievances. We're a very divided country and I don't see it getting better under either candidate. Both parties are in a pissing match of who can be worse, and we the people are losing. We have one candidate threatening to use the military against the other political and no one bats an eye, both candidates cant articulate their stances or policies and instead just continues to place blame on the other. I just don't see either candidate being able to pull the country together in any meaningful way. Just a sad state of affairs all the way around.

The early voting numbers coming out of Georgia are pretty interesting. In light of all the bullshit down there, real and fabricated, I would imagine a lot of people want to get their vote in ASAP regardless of who they're voting for or what is motivating them.

54.5% of the votes cast thus far have been cast by females.

Other than that, I feel like teleprompters are a talking point every four years and for as long as I can remember just about everyone uses them. Not that I'm ever going to accuse this country overall to act intelligent or rational as a consensus.

Voting in eastern TN, not even a swing state, has seen amazing turnout. Yesterday was the start of early voting and my city is already claiming 18% have voted.

I have a feeling this may be the largest voter turnout on record when all is said and done.

You can safely ignore the spin either side puts on the Harris interview with Fox News last night. Conservatives calling it a disaster or liberals calling it a homerun mean nothing. Both sides were going to do that no matter what. Want to know the truth? Look at the polls today and whether they moved in her favor or against her. Trust me, she did badly and lost undecided voters by a large margin. The proof is in the pudding, and the polls shifted in Trump's favor overnight after her evasive interview.

Last night reminded me of this SNL skit. Harris playing the role of Bush. I truly expected her at some point to attempt to pass on a question or ask to call a friend.

Did you just say 'ignore the spin' and then act like polls were magically conducted overnight in favor of Trump??

He did and then put spin on how poorly she did all all to the benefit of Trump 😂

Who said anything about magical polls? You're spinning and dodging to avoid an unpleasant fact. Look at the shift in betting odds since yesterday, look at the quick polls coming out today, and look at the rest of the polls that will be coming out all week. She lost ground with the only voters that count at this point: the undecided. You can quibble over semantics, but she shot herself in the foot last night. No amount of spin changes the only important result: did she gain or lose votes. She lost them.

I'll hand it to her...I didn't think she'd have the balls to sit down with Fox news. I'm not sure it was a homerun for her, probably more of a Hail Mary really. Still, gutsy move, I'm not sure I would have gone into the lion's den if I was running that campaign.
It was a normal interview. She quit doing softball. Trump has done hostile interviews.

Oh, we've moved from polls to the betting odds. And then 'quick' polls. And you've already predicted the polls for the rest of the week. This sounds good, I trust you!

You're down to semantics to avoid dealing with reality. You comfort yourself with that all the way to the election, then. Bottom line is Harris was a hot mess last night and lost votes... lots of them among the crucial undecided. Whether you recognize that or not makes no difference at all. Reality doesn't care about your feelings or wishes.

Prior to the interview, which was broadcast at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Betfair and Paddy Power offered odds of 11/8 (42.1 percent) on Harris securing an electoral victory in November. However, as of 5:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, the vice president's chances had improved to 5/4 (44.4 percent).

Well, then....

Well then, look at a wide range of polls and oddsmakers, not just one that gives you the answer you want. Keep watching the polls and oddsmakers over the next week or so and we'll see that Harris lost ground last night. Don't get mad at me for pointing out a fact. Get mad at the Democratic party for misleading the voting public and doing a switcheroo/end-around with the nomination instead of running a legit primary, and for putting a dimwitted, unqualified DEI VP at the top of the ticket.

Can you post some links or something that show her numbers went down after last night? Or just keep going on about how you're pointing out facts....

You know the old saying about how liberals want you to think like them and Conservatives just want you to think? Try it. Think for yourself instead of just mindlessly parroting others' talking points. Do some research. Read articles from both the left and right. Watch the interview last night and see it at is was, not as you want it to be. Look at a wide range of polls and oddsmakers' sites. Google is your friend. Then THINK and use facts and logic and reason. That's what I've done all morning with Google. I've looked at articles and videos from the NYT, the BBC, Fox, ABC, The Telegraph, and several other sources to get a wide range of views and make sure I wasn't just seeing what I wanted to see. You should try doing the same.

Don't cherry pick the one site that tells you what you want to hear and then mindlessly parrot that. It makes you wrong all too often. Learn to research and think accurately. Again, I understand that you don't like the results of last night's interview and what it did to Harris' attempt to sway undecided voters, but whether you like it or not, and whether you like me pointing it out is totally irrelevant. It is what it is. You can deal with it or pretend it's not real. Won't make any difference at all.
