He's great with his legs, ran for 1,000+ years last 2 years at Holy Cross and he single handily won them the game against Kansas. They couldnt stop him. He's red haired Riley Leonard.

Anybody have any clue about eligibility for someone transferring to a trimester school? For instance a player transfers to a trimester school that's in the playoffs and technically if its the winter semester they would be academically eligible. NCAA would probably step in but the school and player could just sue.

I would say they couldn't because it's the same season.

I guess it's a possibility, but I wouldn't do it for fear of it happening again. Regardless of which story is true, you would never really know.

I assume what is meant is an oral promise. "Verbal" doesn't mean spoken. It just means they used words. If she's directly quoting the agent, I'm guessing they're not an attorney.

We never had these issues when boosters were dropping bags of cash. Before this contract craziness. Back in the good old days where a car, house, and job for mom were paid in full before delivery of athletic talents.

Sad to watch the sport we all love die a slow painful death and become a carcass of the game we all know.

The blue bloods and those that want to drop the charade of student athletics really should just start a 3-5 year pro league for athletes before they're eligible for the NFL. Room and board and education is part of your benefits package and then negotiate the players salaries like they do now.

Reading between the lines here, the school and its collective made no "formal" agreement, meaning there is no contract. The kid/family were operating under some sort of verbal agreement for $100k+, which is just plain dumb.

I've said this time and again, there seems to be no contracts, deals continue to be made in the shadows, kids/families continue to get exploited, lawyers continue to rich from the mess, schools continue to get rich off their free labor. Wild wild west.

Direct pay for play is still out so many of these deals may not lend themselves to written agreements before the player enrolls.

Right, which is ultimately where the kids are getting exploited. "We can't have a written contract because pay-for-play is technically against the rules. But, you can take our word for it. Wink wink."
