Sampson posted his interview with Chuck Martin on the Independent. Good listen. I love the idea of him telling his team how big of a ND fanboy he is.

I loved it and came to the conclusion that he truly is a hardcore fan vs what I thought earlier. How can you not like this guy as a player or a fan? I loved what his GVSU player said about him when comparing him to BK as HC. When Martin cussed at them, they took it as constructive criticism to point out what they need to do to get better. When BK cussed at them, it came off as more demoralizing than anything else.

Looking back w/ the benefit of hindsight, Denbrock & Martin seemed to be the “good cop” to BK’s “bad cop”

He went from HC of Grand Valley State to DB Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Notre Dame. That's a massive jump.

It really does explain why he's stayed at Miami OH for so long. I really like CM. Always have.

if you listen to the Independent this week Sampson went to Miami to visit with Chuck Martin. Martin said he grew up a ND fan and is a fan for life. However he said he never enjoyed coaching at ND. He never really said why but what i gathered from it was that he felt a huge pressure from himself to succeed and this stress took its toll on him emotionally.
