There's a lot of worry on this site about receiver recruits. The fact is, quarterbacks rarely play with the receivers in their classes. They're typically playing with the guys a year or two behind them because QB's sit and WR's play.

Once Riley balls out and Carr follows up, we will be THE destination especially if Duece sticks.
There's always the portal in a few years if the 25 class needs bodies.

Just wanted to bump to remind others that ND has a wr in the class that I (and others) believe is flying very under the radar
Why do you think a wr recruit whose father was a very good wr in the nfl fly under the radar? How is that possible?

I think he’s ok, but doesn’t have size of dad or speed/athleticism to be a top recruit.

Pretty simple. Junior film was good, but not elite.

But he balled out at camps over the spring/summer, namely UA New Jersey, and showed off fluid athleticism, crisp route running against top quality competition.

I wouldn't put him in the upper echelon of high 4-5 stars, but he's a firm 4-star guy, and with his dad's genes, he is a safe bet to take on.

Do you have any film of the camps? I haven’t seen anything good.

Also, as a high profile kid, if his jr film was good he wouldn’t be ranked so low. Everyone knew about him. Why so few good offers, with his dad’s pedigree?

I think he’s an ok recruit and the type of kid you don’t mind having in the class that you hope develops but aren’t reliant on it.

I agree. Hes got good quickness and also a really good route runner which makes his floor pretty high. I think he's underrated

He catches the ball. We undervalue how important that is. After a season of styles and a season of merriweather. I will never undervalue it again.

I hope yall are right… I can’t for the life of me understand why the son of a good nfl wr (if he’s good) is getting no offers from good football schools other than nd. It doesn’t make sense. Typically it’s the other way around where they get offers they aren’t qualified for due to their father.

Take a breath on this one. He committed early and no wavering, no one gonna waste time and energy on that. Most nfl dads (that didnt go to louisiana lafayette or as I call it U laugh west) understand the higher value of nil plus notre dame. So he was never gonna flip to miami for $75k more dollars this year when he will make more by sticking at ND with that name next year

I'm sure it's partly a production thing relative to his teammates. We'll see how his season goes

Agree with you but that’s a low bar
No shit man aint that what we been talking about since shit fuck wr coach dumped his board and went all in on unproven Texas runny fast money bags, a db west coaster, and some vegas asshole who never hid he wanted all the sec. The bar is hanging out with the titanic its so damn low. I just want freeman and company to focus on getting more functional receivers like a thomas and less bullshit thoughts and prayers bc of upside and no production. I mean holy hell if a kid cant have 50 catches in a high school season how da fuq he a 5 star. Burress here is a professional receiver. Is he gonna be a first rounder…nope but can he run his assigned route and catch a ball yep. So for the moment im saying that is something

Under the radar? Haa, That's good for IU, Purdue etc. but that doesn't suffice at Notre Dame...Gimme an under the radar WR revruit (Burress) as the 5th guy in a deep class or even 4th! #1 is asinine!

Then start bitching about how crony wr hire isnt doing shit in the 26. 2025 is over for that level cat. We need freeman to take over 25 and get us 2 this years kk smith/saldate and call it a wrap

They're in a bad spot but the first signing day isn't for 5 months. I don't have a high level of confidence they land a top 50 level wr but it's also not over. If it was Keon Keeley and Peyton Bowen would be on our football team right now.

Not being able to land a top 25 guy at the position is hard to believe, but not being able to land top 50 guys well that's unfathomable.

Wow!! Those last two TDs nobody was within 5 yds of him. How good is Pope John supposed to be this year?

Pope John (I attended for a year, siblings graduated) has struggled as far as I know since they changed divisions from HWS to the catholic league. Say what you want about them, but 3 tuddies I’m pretty sure is more than he had all of last year so it’s good to hear about the growth.

I’d add that while Pope John may not be a world beater, it’s still part of the toughest competition in the state
