Ain’t gonna matter when you don’t have WR’s
True

And to be frank what is this idiot doing fiddle farting around with ND and Auburn. It's clear the answer is Ole Miss, and I'm not sure what the hold up is. Close to home, SEC, Offense juggernaut year in and year out, great coaching, athletes everywhere, and one killer game day experience. Unless he truly values school over football, maybe he doesn't trust his knees...who knows. ND shouldn't even be in the conversation at this point (and maybe they aren't), MF must really make these kids fear jumping ship that they feel the need to string ND along forever (Looking at you Peyton).

I think the "choose hard" stuff does resonate with a lot of these recruits.

A year ago, Deuce was the kid who chose the harder path - to go away from home, to the big stage, the academics, etc. - and probably, rightfully, took a lot of pride in that. Now, he's having serious second thoughts, for all the reasons, enough that he will probably choose the easier route in the end. But part of him still wants to be the guy who chooses the harder road, so he'll drag it out as long as he can.

Is my theory in a lot of these cases anyway.

Doesn't help us go find another QB though, does it.

That's a great perspective. But I have a feeling DK has NFL aspirations, and if he were my Son....I'd have to be in his ear at this point. It's one thing coming into the program as it's about to explode it's another when it feels like it's sliding backwards. One thing I hang my hat on is it took Kirby a few years to get the machine rolling. Yes, year 2 he won the semi and lost the Natty. But year 3-5 were rough (in UGA standards). Even 2018, the last time they lost 3 games were all against top 5 teams. Never this NIU nonsense.

Would anyone here let your son play qb at Notre Dame when he could go anywhere else?
If my son is Pyne, absolutely. If my son is Trevor Lawrence, CJ Stroud or DK. Absolutely not.

Edit...after some thought I'd have let every QB since Clausen play at ND as a father (hence the problem). Jimmy Pickles would have went to USC if he were my son.

Yes, as my son (who doesn't exist to my knowledge) is the Prince that was promised.

But I am sorta curious how many years ND has left of Notre Dame fan dads. Aging fanbase. Makes recruiting harder.

Word is Deuce canceled an interview with someone- don’t know who- at the request of Notre Dame. Apparently the latest Irish push is telling Deuce that Auburn slow played him for JuJu. Another interesting rumor is that Deuce’s family doesn’t care for Lane. So, maybe those two things together has made Deuce think a little.

Interview? I thought he was supposed to make an announcement this weekend? This kid is either playing everyone like a Stradivarius or he's confused as hell.

A lot of people were predicting he would commit this past weekend. Since he didn’t that may be a good sign for ND. Heck, at the end of the day who really knows besides Deuce.

What makes you think Deuce knows?
I'm Team Deuce is Confused, personally. Can't say I blame him. This process kinda sucks.

Personally I get the impression he wants to stay committed to the Irish but there’s others in his ear be it coaches, parents, etc. End of the day Deuce hopefully does what he wants and not what others want.

Who’s saying this? Coach D?

If he were chasing money I think he would have already committed to Auburn. They have opened the safe up the last two months.

I doubt this is the case but it would be absolutely hilarious if he was milking Auburn for all he could get up front before going to a different school
