So this is supposed to be the Peacock game this year?
For real? Why not Miami of Ohio? How silly. It's likely the biggest home game outside of Florida State. My guess is, much like the Super Bowl, they're fishing for subscribers and they know that there would be too much outrage if a bigger fanbase like FSU was locked out.

I just heard it on the One Foot Down podcast, not sure if I saw an announcement

Louisville is actually one of the top programs in the country in terms of athletic support... this is def NBC fishing for a bunch of Peacock subscribers in the Louisville zip codes

15 returning starters and they had a very solid portal haul.

I want ND to win this game pretty bad. It's going to be a fight.

Notre Dame will have to ask themselves if they believe that they can walk on water and do they believe that they can win this fight tonight.

So this should pretty easily be the best Peacock game that NBC has ever had?

I’m so over this. Wearing them annually against lackluster opponents (Cal, Maryland, Louisville) waters down the tradition and allure. Yes, Louisville bitched us around last year and yes, it’s a revenge game, but that doesn’t mean it warrants a “green out.”

At minimum, they better be in gold pants….we’re getting too gimmicky with our uniforms since MF took over in my opinion .

Not one of my proudest moments but the last time I was at an ND/UL game, Louisville’s finest not so kindly escorted me out of the stadium. 🤷‍♂️

All I was doing was following the football up and down the field as they moved.

My old man and our friend/designated driver was like where the fuck did he go…? Worked out ok though as the bartender across the street was superb. Awesome rack.

Lol. Shit happens. We won. 😆

This is the trend now and kids love it. Alternative jerseys are here to stay for a while.
(Even the No Fun League is doing it).

They aren’t trying to recreate the 1977 green jersey game. It’s marketing at the end of the day.

I hope they come out in the all whites vs. Texas A$M to be honest. That would mean 5 uni combos this year.

Eh...Louisville wasn't as good as they let on in that game. They had no business beating us really. They deserve a thorough waxing after spoiling the season a bit. They were the beneficiary of poor scheduling and fatigue, nothing more.

They were the better team that night. Fair and square. But it was mostly because our tank was completely empty after Ohio State and Duke. They're fine but that's the extent of it.

I love it. We finally have a coach who is trying to keep ND operating in the space relevant to the kids they are trying to recruit. Its 2024. The most important tradition is winning. Aside from the many other challenges to recruiting at ND, dont self impose another one by trying to be the program that is frozen in time.

I don’t recall Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, and the likes switching up their uniforms. Just win.

They completely stuffed our running game, ran it down our throats at will, and forced a gazillion turnovers. We shouldn’t have been out of gas after only two night games (Ohio State and “Duke” of all teams), but that’s a whole different topic and story. We were not prepared to play; they were.

Circle this game on the calendar? Sure. Attempt to embarrass or run up the score? That’s fine. I’d treat it as strictly business. Show up without any special or alternate uniforms or marketing gimmicks and pummel them for 4 quarters. That’s my take anyway

I haven’t had many good interactions at all with Louisville fans, both in football and basketball, to be honest.

They are going to be doing the green jerseys moving forward. It's not a "gimmick" to try and hype the team up, it's more for a "cool" factor, and they probably see a bump in additional revenue on shirts.

I agree, there was no excuse to be out of gas vs Louisville. It was a carry over from the 2nd half of the duke game. We just looked like that the entire game vs Louisville. Elko showed how to stop our parker offense, and they found some plays in the run game as well. Louisville did the exact same thing, just the entire game. The fact we had no adjustments offensively or defensively was not shocking with parker, but was with Golden. To not be able to run the ball then give up 200 yds rushing, that starts at the freeman level because the entire team was not physically, mentally, or schematically prepared.

You listed 4 programs from recruiting hot beds that otherwise don’t have any self imposed or many recruiting obstacles.

ND doesn’t need to make it harder on itself than it already does to appeal to 16-22 year olds.
