Arkansas was a neutral site game. Other home win was 51-10 over Miss St. (5-7) I don't know if you can call an SEC team with a losing record "terrible".
"Terrible" is an apt description for a team with a losing record. MSU had their skull dragged by a majority of the SEC all last year. Even Auburn blew them out of the water.

Auburn lost by 21 points at home...to New Mexico State.

Carolina was probably the best of those 3 all-things-considered, but even they sucked. Their offense, expected to be good in year 2 of Rattler, took a complete nosedive.

The only thing that’s held A&M back has been their coaching and injuries. With their alumni base and deep pockets there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be a top 10 program. The right coach will make them dangerous. But not this game and not this year. Irish wins on the road.

Their alumni and deep pockets might be part of the problem, TBH.
They throw a lot of money around, but maybe at the wrong things. Or maybe the guys throwing the money also throw their weight around in bad ways? IDK. But there's something off in their culture and has been for a long time.
Because yes on paper they should be a top 10 program, but they've only even one 10 games once this century.

Anybody listen to the II podcast? They make it seem like there’s an actual possibility that Cross won’t be available for AM.

First thing I thought of when they announced it was load management. Hammies never heal quickly and seem to linger for months.

I know they’re different classes, but after all I have heard about Bryce Young, did he perhaps end up a better recruit than Keeley?
I love Bryce Young and think he's going to be a star, and I think his 5th star from 247sports was well deserved. However, would've been great to have both of them!

Didn't they hire a national championship coach though? Something other then coaching holding them back.

On paper Jimbo was a good hire. But never a good fit. Take Jameis off that NC team and Jimbo is just a slightly above average coach without the ability to change. At the time there was plenty of naysayers and they proved correct.

Maybe Elko has better luck after his 0-1 start.

How did Mississippi State beat Arizona?

Our D keeps them at bay long enough for us to wether the crowd & A&Ms early haymakers..

We’re more talented & win by 3 scores.. 30-13 type game.
Can someone fill me in on A&M’s quarterback? I know nothing about him/they.

Conner Weigman. He's pretty highly-regarded (some see him as a potential first round pick) but hasn't actually played much. Won the starting job towards the end of his freshman year, and was their starter going into last season but missed most of the year with a foot injury. Supposedly back at full strength now.

Weigman is very hyped on a pretty small sample size.. He put up gaudy numbers on 4 games last year with two of them being against ULM & New Mexico, a loss to Miami & win against Auburn in which he only had 14 attempts with 70 yards.

So he essentially slung it against scrubs & threw 2 INTs in a loss to Miami.

But when you watch him you can tell he’s got a great arm, goes through his reads & can run. There’s a reason he’s getting a ton of hype .

With that said, he’s never faced a D like ours.

Wow. ND dodged a bullet. If he under performed here it would have been more negative recruiting fodder.
My hot take is that he was an infinitely better fit for what ND was doing on defense than what Alabama was doing on theirs. He profiled as a traditional 4-3 DE… not a jumbo 3-4 DE and certainly not an OLB. Had people in his ear telling him to chase money and it’s probably going to cost him millions in the long run.

This is EXACTLY why nil was going to be bad for kids because it has and will continue to get them to think in the short term which as an adult we all know is a very dangerous way of thinking.

funniest thing about Keeley was that initially his coaches/uncles whatever were all big Florida guys and wanted him to be a Gator but in the end they didnt give AF about tribal SEC loyalties because the money Bama was giving was just too good
