I think it is important to get Williams and Gilbert game ready ASAP, it will show the recruits that ND will play freshman receivers like we did last season.

Gilbert looked good at the B&G game, we know what our transfers should bring to our offense, and I think this board saw last season that Williams has the potential to play right away.

Williams and Gilbert are both pure studs.
No one from '25 was going to play for three years anyway with these two monsters in South Bend.

It would've been nice to see Williams at the B&G game, but Gilbert was very impressive and a nice surprise at the B&G game (I also liked his HS film). They both are studs.

I think Williams/Gilbert can be a nice 1-2 punch off the bench, I don't have huge expectations for either, but if they can produce like Faison and Greathouse did last season play them instead of talking about what they can do.

Keep an awesome OLine and RB stable along with a QB that can run and that offsets the need to be WR dependent! Calm down … we’re fine right now!

We didn’t have a QB that could run…
Buchner and Hartman… Hartman wasn’t an elite runner but his legs are why we beat Duke and had a chance at all vs Clemson

I just don’t think it’s a great formula to not have elite passing game if you want to win it all… forces you to have top D in the country like Michigan had

Pretty much as we've seen the last decade

I kinds expect greathouse to take s big step forward this year. The WR corps doesmt have a superstar yet, but its pretty deep with bodies this year. I wouldnt be surprised to see several 400-700 yd receivers vs anyone really blow up.

I would agree about Greathouse- for a freshman he put together a nice season, passing wise he went from Hartman to Leonard, he has a QB that can get him the ball.

I want to see bigger production on the field, several 400-700 yard receivers are nice, but Mitchell had over 1,000 yards last year at FIU he is more than a deep threat, I'll be greedy and say someone needs to blow up, give me Mitchell.

The unfortunate thing or should i say the fortunate thing is, Williams has time and isn't needed.... he's behind Gilbert and Williams was noted as needing time... the measurables and speed are there

He supposedly came on strong late spring camp.

Agree that he isn't needed, but unless you think he's staying 5 years (most likely means injury or bust), you find a way to work him in throughout the year, even if it's vs lesser opponents.

We absolutely need a receiver that can constantly be a deep threat and keep defenses honest. If defenses focus on Mitchell, Greathouse/Faison will be there underneath for good gains.

Difference right there between the guys that choose ND over the SEC and other programs. Choosing ND shows a level of maturity that many teenagers in today's society flat out do not possess

Speaking of...

Cam's SAT score was probably 400 points higher than the average 5 star WR. That right there is our problem lol.

Kid sounds destined for a ESPN / NFL Network seat. So well spoken for his age.

How much higher was his ACT score compared to his coach?

Looking forward to seeing him next year. Williams and Gilbert can be the difference between a repeat of last night and lifting the trophy.
