Hines and then Robinson. Although, Hines I’m not as confident in.

Hard to say about NOB, Faraimo or Meadows without an official date set as of now.
You feel more USC or Texas for Hines in terms of our biggest competitor?

I can't remember where I read it but someone reported that the 25 board should be cleaned off and the class completed in the next month. I believe Meadows in commiting 7/31. Faraimo should be very soon.
Faraimo stated last month he would like to commit in the beginning of July, but wanted all of his family present.

I think Hines comes but I was debating between him and Faraimo. Faraimo said he wanted to commit in early July but was waiting for a few family members to be present.
Hines commits Monday so was JW. I could see it being Hines, insert recruit here, then Robinson.

USC.

Hines hasn’t been too forthcoming with reporters about his recruitment in general.

The Texas side of things believes it’s ND. But, that was before Dekorian Moore going to Eugene. They are still pushing for Jamie Ffrench & Kalia Lockett, and have never really made Hines a priority as an in-state kid.

His teammate, TE Nick Townsend, is likely going to Texas. I don’t think that that’s an influence on Tanook’s decision though.

USC is appealing to him.

I will add this, Hines grew up in a military family and really reasonated with Freeman, as their backgrounds are very much the same. Military father getting his kids up at 5am to exercise and do chores. Very disciplined young man.

I think the choice is ND in the end, but I am not as confident as I am with Robinson.

So the 8th is still the date? I thought that changed...So yes, I think he commits, it's basically a 2 horse race.

I wonder with Blair on board if staff let’s Golden play WR
Nah.

With the way our defense has morphed into primarily a Nickel/Aztec base formation, having 4-6 defensive backs per cycle is going to be the norm. Golden and Thomas are likely traditional corners, while Zackery could start at corner, might be a nickel long-term. Meanwhile, having Blair, Taylor and Long gives you the potential to play a 3 safety (Aztec) build.

I also don't think they're chancing it especially if Taylor waivers, though I'm far more confident now that he sticks. His flexibility definitely helps though, similar to Watts before.

Great points, but just wanted to clarify. The staff views Golden as a nickel, and Zackery as a traditional, outside corner - either boundary or field.

Their message to Golden is that he would start off as a nickel. No guarantees that he stays there his whole career.

I thought I saw on a different thread that someone was supposed to announce today, Faraimo at 1pm?? Has that been pushed back?

Faraimo pushed it back because he wanted his whole family to all be there. Would love to have him as a surprise commitment from him between Blair and Hines though
That makes sense, him wanting his whole family to be there= ND guy. Thanks for the info.

Makes sense when you look at how instinctive/disruptive Golden is. They could avoid him at corner whereas he can be utilized a a weapon a lot more at nickel.

Tanook Hines announcement pushed back one week due to inclement weather. He will now be announcing 7/15 along with his teammate Nick Townsend.
