Eichenberg was around 300 at ND. He was a first team All-American.

Martin was somewhere around 300-305 at ND. Another All-American.

Hainsey was around 290-295 at ND.

It's definitely not a requirement for a tackle to be 315. It's nice to have, but if they can handle edge rushers in pass pro and move guys decently at 300.

By all accounts, Wagner is noticeably bigger than last year. So him adding another 10 pounds over an offseason is very realistic.

Keep in mind, he entered his freshman fall camp at 260, and in a year he was in the 280's.
300 can be carried and built different ways my man. Eichenberg, Martin and Hainsey were all thick in the legs. From the waist down, Wagner looks like a power forward in basketball. That's always been the concern.

If wagner can't win the RT spot this year, you gotta think it will be difficult for him to ever win it. Not that he can't improve, but the lack of competition or quality competition at RT is obvious.

I read, start at RT....like, week 1 lol

Really wished he would have EE'd
II did a segment a couple of weeks ago on their podcast about how almost every year over the past decade + a high level freshman performer has come out of the non EE's. Almost out performing the EE's. Sure hope this one of them this year

Will wear Alt's old number 76 and he's going to start out as a RT
The Alt-Lambert connections run pretty deep. Tall, multi-sport (hockey and soccer backgrounds respectively), Catholic, children of immigrants (German and Haitian), and academically inclined (mechanical engineer and nearly a Harvard commit)

Alt also did not early enroll. And it was fine.

I'm quite positive I read that John Alt was an "army brat", so I wouldn't consider him a child of an immigrant in the traditional sense of the word.

It wouldn't have been if 3 people didn't get injured or have issues in front of him. He started season 4th string

Despite how bad Baker and carmody did and alt played well in limited minutes, it took failures by them again and again vs wisconsin and cinci for alt to start vs v tech.

My point, lambert could be the best RT but it will be hard to get a shot

Yeah I would not expect Lambert will start this season. But it's not because he didn't EE. His high school competition is nowhere near what it would take for a freshman to step in and play tackle at this level. You don't see pass rushers like the ones employed by A&M and Florida State in the Greater Boston Catholic Conference.

The quicker Lambert is ready to go the better. A believe a camp battle is about to begin at right tackle with Wagner and Baker. I wouldn't sleep on Wagner as although smaller, he's very athletic. Critical we get good play out of our tackles.

Boubacar was his teammate. He might have some idea.

Fair. Hopefully they've been battling for years.

There's talent in Massachusetts high school football, it's just not especially deep. CM is one of the very best programs in the state, and shares a conference with a couple of the others. As big time as it gets around here. But, like, last year they went to Florida to play a big-time team down there and got just rocked.

Regardless, I think Lambert will be a good one. I just don't like the idea of rushing OLs onto the field.

Joe Alt was third string. Coaches don’t trust freshman tackles.

Normally I'm with ya, and those two on the same team in that area is an outlier.
