Since Bell last yearš¤·Hard to argue with that. But, Golden at DB (particularly at nickel), gives ND likely the best athlete they've had at the position in a long time.

Bell was just fast, but wasnāt near the athlete as Golden is. Bell was a track guy learning football. Golden is a 5 Star talent at football.Since Bell last yearš¤·
He's more than just fast and their both 4* talents. Golden has shined brighter on offense at the Prep level and Bell was even more electric on offense and special teams than Golden. Golden looked better and more instinctual in the secondary. Athleticism leans to Bell by far.Bell was just fast, but wasnāt near the athlete as Golden is. Bell was a track guy learning football. I canāt even waste time going into how dumb this is.He's more than just fast and theyāre both 4* talents. I wish we had half the talent at WR this cycle as we do with the DBs
That is correct however there is no position group that we are struggling with as much as the WR group
I think if you change out Meadows for Robinson, I think that will be the class.I guess I see it differently. I think the wide receiver group on the roster is trending up. Closing with Meadows, Hines, and Hall would be great.
Yeah I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt--but that take right there outs him as a covert trollI canāt even waste time going into how dumb this is.
This and....so much more. So much much more. Enough to fill a warehouse more. A lot. Also, what message board fans donāt realize, is kids develop relationships with coaches. Golden committed to play for Mickens. Obviously, things happen, but you canāt switch the position you recruited him at before he even gets to ND.
He was absolutely a 4* talent, and I've seen the way both of them did all of those things hence it's way they both played on both sides of the ball because of their athleticism and talent. Speed is also apart of your athletic profile and he does have far more than Golden, that's just the facts. Furthermore Bell wasnt passed up as he was going to be the nickelback this year and was the best CB in the Spring game if you paid attention. His transfer had nothing to do with playing time since he was going to be on the field quite a bit this season as the 3rd CB, but because Vandy is going to let him play both ways at WR/CB. He also had offers from Georgia, Oregon, TAMU, Texas, Baykor, Michigan, LSU, TCU, Stanford and Harvard! Alit more diverse due to his high academic background and track profile. Just do your homework!I canāt even waste time going into how dumb this is.
Bell was not a 4 Star talent. He was a 3 Star football talent. Golden is a 5 Star football talent.
Have you seen Golden turn his hips, jump, run laterally? Athleticism is way more than speed. Saying Bell has more āby farā shows you understand nothing about football.
There is a reason Bell got passed up by everyone at ND & left. There is a reason Bell wasnt highly recruited. There is a reason Bell transferred to Vanderbilt. In this day and age, with the transfer portal & money being spent, decent players are getting paid by big time programs to transfer. He ended up at Vanderbilt for free.
Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, FSU, UF, Miami, Ohio St, Michigan, PSU, A&M, Texas, USC, Oregon, and 21 other P4 teams recruited Golden.
NDās biggest competition for Bell was Baylor & Houston.
Not sure why thereās so much hostility in your post but itās also full of inaccurate info and opinion, not fact.He was absolutely a 4* talent, and I've seen the way both of them did all of those things hence it's way they both played on both sides of the ball because of their athleticism and talent. I won't even bother going into knowing about Football with some couch potato who knows nothing about playing on both sides of the ball at ANY level, nor playing against the likes of Notre Dame in a Gator Bowl, but I digress.
Back to your remote and couch you go
Because we arenāt ColoradoWhy can't Golden play both ways?
Inaccurate info but plenty of sources back up my info and then you spew a bunch of inaccurate things, I didn't say he was the 3rd BEST CB (I'd say 4th and he was 2/3 in the Spring game) I said he was in position to be the nickel (3rd or 4th) and he did a good job in the Spring game while playing boundary when he is more of a field CB.Not sure why thereās so much hostility in your post but itās also full of inaccurate info and opinion, not fact.
Look at what DBs did and didnāt play in the spring game before giving off the false narrative that he outplayed regular starters. He was in no way the third best DB on the roster. B-Mo, Mickey, and Grey are all far and above Bell. The only reason Vandy tossed out the idea of him playing both sides of the ball, is because they donāt have the NIL funds to play the transfer game (which he was offered none of btw).
Bell was absolutely being passed up and there were no indications from ND staff that he was set to be the starting nickel. Jaiden Ausberry was not playing the position he was playing in the spring game by accident. The fact that ND was searching for additions to the position via the portal is also telling. They also have two more incoming freshman that werenāt available in the spring.
Itās clear that Bell has more straight line speed than Golden but itās also clear that Golden has better instincts and far better short area quickness and acceleration. Both great athletes in their own way.

Vandy not having NIL funds would also be inaccurate. He felt he was better on offense (I did as well) so getting to showcase his athleticism and speed was a big thing for him with the ball in his hands. Once again you assume I said he was starting, I said he was in position for the spot which he absolutely was and you can look at comments from earlier in the Spring that state as much. ND was looking in the portal because the had deflections and the secondary usually has a few injuries during the season so you like to be about 6-7 deep at CB if you can and 5-6 deep at Safety, no news there it's just College Football.
Comparing him and Golden us the most asinine of all it's no debate he has better straightline speed as he was the Fastest on the entire team, he also had the fastest acceleration Golden wouldn't even be Top 3 on the team next year. Golden has quick feet, short area quickness and tremendous instincts but the only thing he has on Bell is instincts and lateral movement, Bell has superior athleticism has in any combine setting he will best Golden in pretty much every test. In camp settings Golden wins 60-40.
They both had great offers and were 4* players, I preferred Bell on offense and ST while Golden I like as a CB or Slot guy. Both are very good athletes in their own rights, agreed, but Bell is just a better one.
Thatās a great questionā¦because nothing heās saying (while being over the top hostile to another poster) is accurate. Inaccurate enough that heās back tracking on his original post. From ābest cb in the spring gameā to 2/3 in the spring game. From 3rd corner to 4th corner.Which sources?
Blair is a safety. Joseph a CB. Joseph seemed like overkill unless someone else was shaky.I've been out of this recruitment. Is this essentially ND vs PSU picking between Blair and Joseph?

Micah Bell was a relic of past ND CB recruiting. Take a track guy and hope that they develop. Sometimes you luck up and get an Allen Rossum. More often you get a Dwight Ellick.

Saying that Bell is more of a field corner tells me just how āknowledgeableā you are about college football you are, or arenāt.
Every school has NIL funds, nobody said otherwise. Vandy isnāt winning over 4 and 5* caliber recruits with upfront NIL deposits, which was the point.
Itās odd that you keep bringing up that Bell thought he was better suited for the offensive side of the ball, despite being recruited to play defense by ND, and bypassing multiple opportunities to transfer out while playing defense at ND. Up until of course, he was passed up and saw the writing on the wall.
But please, carry on with your sources and infinite college football knowledge while calling out other posters.
Atkinson would probably be the closest because Pride was a STUDWho were the Bell level track guys with little DB production in HS that BK brought in?
Atkinson would probably be the closest because Pride was a STUD
Iām sure heāll turn into a solid player there, but heāll never finish higher than fifth in the conference during his time at PSU.PSU and Natty don't quite fit together in the same sentence.
But, I'm sure he will turn into a solid player at Penn State.
