it seems like if he doesn’t work out as a QB he could switch to WR or TE.

He also wasn’t able to showcase his running ability which limited his true overall talents.

A team blitzed him once, so then he is allowed to run, & he took off and ran the entire length of the field to the 2 yard line.
Nobody blitzed him again.
Deuce is an excellent athlete for sure. But a QB is going to run a lot differently playing flag football as opposed to when you’re worried about a spying linebacker trying to break you in half in the open field.

He rolled out to the left, then ran down the sideline. No LB is catching him running down the sideline…the blitzing CB couldn’t catch him.
It would have been a TD in real life because all they had to do was touch him for him to be down. Nobody, which was all fast DBs could even touch him, let alone tackle him.
A DB in the EZ just waited for him & touched him on the sideline on the 2.
Just picture Vince Young running. That’s Deuce’s best comparison.

Well Knight completed 64% as a JR which isn't too shabby, while Carr was at 68% as a SR.
Where did you get that made up number from?

Try 53% as a junior.

"2023: Transferred into Nashville's Lipscomb Academy ahead of junior season. Appeared in 3 games for the Mustangs – vs. IMG Academy, at Saraland, and at Briarcrest Christian – before returning to George County. Posted a 5-5 record in 10 games. Completed 141 of 265 passes (53.2%) for 2,047 yards with 17 TD and 2 INT while also rushing for 494 yards and 11 TD on 99 carries."

Completion percentage in high school isn’t necessarily an indicator of accuracy. Just like ERA for a minor league pitcher isn’t necessarily a good indicator of how well the pitcher would do in the majors. They’re both playing with and against inferior players. Everyone is bigger, stronger, faster, etc. on the next level.

I would argue that it’s easier to evaluate players from the Trinity league in SoCal (Mater Dei, Bosco, etc.) along with schools that play national elite level competition (Aquinas, Good Counsel, Bishop Gorman, et al).

Sure. He's in 6A (out of 7) MS high school football which is not going to be a great indicator of his accuracy. I don't disagree with any of that. I'm just not getting excited about a super athlete qb until they show they can QB with pads on. And I'm certainly not going to ignore someone making up stats to prove a point.

If hes going to Ole Miss he sure is pissing away a ton of travel time and money
I’m not saying this as a fact, just an educated opinion, but do you think Deuce has traveled to ND 11 times on his own dime? (ND doesn’t start paying for his OV until the 14th).

In the modern landscape of NIL, OV’s have become pointless because all trips can be paid for by someone else now.

I can pay for his flights, hotel & food the next 3 days.
Somebody is paying for it, not the Knight’s.
They haven’t paid to fly, stay & eat, 11 times at ND.

I mean, it’s as simple as that. You can’t win with a QB that doesn’t believe he’s that guy. If Deuce were to leave because he didn’t believe in himself, then he was going to leave after his freshman year when CJ is the starter with a couple years of eligibility left anyway.

I’ll say that about Arch Manning. I don’t think very much of him as a prospect, but not many top QBs stay at a school for two seasons like he is. He clearly values competing and developing more than he does reps on a go-nowhere team.

Joe Burrow?

I like the reasoning is, “Ole Miss really wants him…”
LOL
So if you really want somebody, they have to come to your school?

Deuce has said he maintains frequent contact with Ole Miss "just in case" something funky happens with ND.

Deuce is evidently giving off enough positive vibes that Ole Miss that they think they can flip him. If he wasn't giving off those vibes, Ole Miss would move on.

A lot of it falls flat on its face when Deuce has spent more time with Notre Dame players or on Notre Dame’s campus in the last month than he has in the state of Mississippi, and Tom doesn’t even mention that. He arrived for his OV yesterday and is there til Sunday.

Recruiting is unpredictable, but Deuce is about as solid as they can come right now and is wisely having fallback options

I have no problem at all with having options. Notre Dame does or should. With that said, I hope we land kid.
