I sat through two hours of IB podcast for all you hosers on the latest recruiting intel. Took me a few days to get through it, I dont know how their base has the time to listen to 2-3 hours daily but here are my notes on confidence levels of the 2025 class. They do their confidence level on 1-10, ten being an active commit, 9 being a silent ( even though they hate to ruin a kids moment with a CB) 8 is pretty much a lock but without a silent, 5 is a 50/50 chance, 2 is a longshot, 1 is a hat on the table.

RB- James Simon 2 (if not simon they are done at RB)
WR- Derek Meadows 4
WR- Talyn Taylor 3
WR Tanook Hines 7
WR Dylan Robinson 7
(WR they needone but would take two of the above)
OT Josh Petty 2 (Petty is a want, if he is out then they are done at OL)

LB Madden Faraimo 6
LB Nathaniel Owusu 5
LB Noah Mikhail 3.5
LB Gavin Nix - 4.5
(LB need minimum of one but will take two, Owusu is a late decision and ND is in a good spot, if they get a commit for Mikhail or Faraimo they wait on Owusu and Nix is out, if neithe Mikhail or Faraimo commit and ND pushes for Nix, ND would be the favorite for him)
CB- Mark Zackery 9
S- JaDon Blair 8
ND should get Zackery and Blair which would make this secondary class legendary and championship level.

Meadows only a "4" and not closer to a "7" wow and Taylor only a 3 instead of a "5" is kinda surprising. Would love to close with Meadows and Hines!

Feels like It'll be NOB & Nix to me... IF slow playing Nix doesn't drive him elsewhere. I think he has Faraimo and NOB's ratings flipped. Actually I don't even think Faraimo's a 5.

He said it's hard to get a read on Faraimo because doesn't do interviews or talk to reporters. Roberts said he was surprised as anyone when he recently heard that staff feels like they are the leaders currently. Also said he is currently in decision making mode.

I've read it all on him including a ton of westcoast stuff. I felt better about KVA than I do Faraimo. I won't be shocked if he's Irish one bit but the vibe just gives me that gonna finish a close second feeling so it forces you to take the field here.

Who do you think is the favorite? OSU or USC?

Whiffing on both Taylor and Meadows would be a kick in the nuts, but this class is far from a bust. Ending with the following (which is a likely finish) puts us at 275 on 247, in line with 2022 and 2024 classes. hopefully another difference maker pops up like Wiggins.

Faraimo
Zackery
Blair
Hines
Dylan Robinson

On taylor and meadows they did everything they could. If after all those visits and conversations they are a no it was a never gonna be situation.

Id be okay with replacing Meadows with Hines. They are similar but Hines seems way more developed and Meadows needs a lot of work. Obviously Meadows has the higher upside but Hines is really solid and not as risky

It's more accurate to say replacing Meadows with Robinson, from a size and skillset perspective. And, from everything I've read and listened to, Robinson may just be the "replacement" for Meadows.

I think this would be nowwhere near good enough as a WR class, and there wouldn't be a single Vyper.

Faraimo could be. Pretty sure its where they see hulak. I think vyper has become the just find the linebacker that puts on weight best and throw him there

Just think “the next step” won’t be until we win a couple games in the playoffs. Freeman is signing consistently better classes than Kelly off of nothing but hope. Think you’ll see us take a jump to ~top 5 class if we can have the year in 2024 this team is capable of.

And with the top top at some key positions, the not NILing high school kids holds us back

This is what people need to believe in and follow when times get tough… or when a three-star commits lol

Everything is going to be incremental with MF at ND. Each season he is going to get incrementally better, whether it’s team preparation for road games, establishing a better & more well-rounded staff, clock management etc. No first time head coach at ND, or even the D1 level, can step into a high profile job from day one and just know how to do everything perfectly. It’s a steep learning curve that only experience can overcome in time.

MF is also going to get incrementally better on the field. 9-4, 10-3… etc, and will also lead to incremental improvements in recruiting (at least from a rankings perspective). Top 10 classes in his first two years is already a bonus. But again, more success on the field will mean more success in recruiting.

They will definitely try to land 2 LBs (NOB, Faraimo, Mikhail and Nix) seems to be the order. I'd love to close the position with NOB and Faraimo
