He was a Blackhawk first (and forever).
Ever time I see this kids name, I think he’s a goalie for the Buffalo Sabres.
Funny, this is the only image I have of him in my mind.

He seems like another interesting prospect to take and see what happensInteresting read on Hulak. Had no idea Matt Bowen coached there... he's got cred.

ESPN's Matt Bowen | Hulak is a "multi-dimensional" talent
There aren't many high school coaches with the playing and evaluating credentials of ESPN's Matt Bowen, so the way he speaks about ND commit Dom Hulak's potential speaks volumesirishsportsdaily.com
He’s playing a very specific position, called $, which I guess is some kind of floating LB/Edge. I could be wrong, but I think that’s a position they only use in a 3-3-5 maybe a 3-4?He seems like another interesting prospect to take and see what happens
With KVA being such a sure thing it gives the staff a little bit of a runway to experiment around with some of these guys
It's a hybrid of both. The obvious situations were when Marist was lined up at edge and rushed the QB. What I'm not sure of is if they use Money concepts when they have a 4 man front... essentially having two Vypers. Theoretically you could send both or drop either into coverage. He’s playing a very specific position, called $, which I guess is some kind of floating LB/Edge. Its just a fancy sounding term that pseudo-football coach dorks (not saying you to be clear) use to describe a weakside linebacker that blitzes a lot on 3rd down
They can say itSo who's the dork... Golden or Freeman?
Great size but not great athleticism, not sure how you can experiment without the athleticismHe seems like another interesting prospect to take and see what happens

Good? IDK about good, functional would be the better description. I think he was way too early of a take.Is he gonna be a good one?

I don’t understand what that means. That I’m on the $?
I think he’s plenty athletic for his defined role. But I can’t see him developing into anything beyond that niche position.Great size but not great athleticism, not sure how you can experiment without the athleticism
I know the verbiage is unique to ND’s D. Like others have pointed out, I’m not sure if they use this in a 3 and 4 man front. Its not a real position in the game of football

Basically what Marist was doing, in the second half of the year especially
Yeah fair.. When I think of experiment, i'm thinking trying out at multiple unique areas that are not defined.I think he’s plenty athletic for his defined role. But I can’t see him developing into anything beyond that niche position.
However, if that doesn’t work out, he could transition easily into the FB/H-Back role that Davis Sherwood is in.
Yet another attempt here. Over under on days/weeks until ban hammer gets dropped?
If Anderson has an underwhelming Sr yr, that’s a problem. However, until then, I will hold off on being critical. Skeptical but not critical. Was never crazy about this take. Actually more perplexed by this one than Daniel Anderson. You can take one average RB every couple of years. Too early and we're in with too many potential difference makers at the time, IMO. IMO IMO IMO.

Why can’t he develop into a Vyper? He’s not so small that it’s out of the question especially with 33inch arms. Plenty of 6-2/6-3 guys in the 240-260 range that are very productive rush ends in collegeI think he’s plenty athletic for his defined role. Relax, we're all experts on this site. They can say it
But people who aren't major college football coaches shouldn't be
You do know what the term pseudo means?
Heaven help me if stack linebacker catches on

Careful, you don't sound like a douchey analyst for your local high school's JV team with this level headed and normal language takeWhy can’t he develop into a Vyper? Weird angry guy who psycho analyzes every one of my posts remains weird angry guy.Oh dear
Does the Mask of Sanity need a fresh coat of paint already?
You had been doing so well these past few weeks keeping things under wraps
Could he, sure, best case, repeat best case imo, he's botelho and we all want better since botelho is really a tweener like him. I don't even think he will be as good as botelho, nor does he have the potential to be, again my opinion. Why can’t he develop into a Vyper? Point blank, his HS film is not impressive for a D1 player. The majority of it is in fact him playing H-Back/FB. It would be an enormous mistake to think he’s a viable plan B at Vyper if they miss on Shanklin.Careful, you don't sound like a douchey analyst for your local high school's JV team with this level headed and normal language take
Surely he can only play the "Money" position on defense and if that doesn't work out--we just whole ass need to flip him over to the other side of the ball and have him be a "H Back"
Don't you even know of all the exact intricacies and nuances that makes a high school football player capable of only playing the "Money" position but being an entire no go at the very similar Vyper position? GEEEEEEZZZZZ
Unsuprisingly, I disagree wholly with a lot of the takes on Hulak.
People saying he's another Botelho, which...okay? Botelho is a good player and a dominant pass rusher when healthy. It's pretty much a known fact that he played injured all of last year and had he been healthy, he would've been a near double digit sack player. Not even really an argument.
So people saying he's another Botelho as if that's a negative is...perplexing to say the least.
