6-5 in 2020He also has a losing record at BC and was one bad season away from getting fired. Perhaps he sees one coming in 2024.
6-6
3-9
7-6 in 2023 and won his first bowl.
I don't know what the expectations of his superiors were at BC, but if he would have gotten fired, there would have to be some kind of buyout right?
I'm guessing he had some 5th and 6th year guys this past season that got them to bowl eligibility and a bowl win, but this guy has done a rather solid job at BC. Not great, but solid. Now you have college football overall being a shit show, the ACC perhaps the next conference being on the brink of losing members and or going bye bye and Hafley squeezing a 7-6 season out of a program that hadn't been to a bowl game since 2019 and hadn't won one since 2016.
Could be a combination of many things, but in the end, you're going to the NFL to take over a young defense for a franchise that likely found it's third consecutive franchise QB and getting out of the college game. The opportunity presented itself and he bailed. He won't be the last.
