Giving this guy some props. Made a decent play the other night.
As Freeman always says: One play, One sack.

(Yes he should've hustled back over the line of scrimmage instead of celebrating ten yards past the crumpled QB in his wake, but we can forgive the kid. He may even be the edge rusher that we were promised.)

Agree on he’s forgiven but disagree that hustle was needed… it was so obnoxious 3 players were that far behind celebrating during a potential live snap. Never seen celebration that over the top when another team is trying to snap it. He showed good burst and bend. What was most impressive was his know hot to go for strip too

I’m sure easy teaching moment

Someone should’ve shown some gamesmanship and just lay on the pile/ball to make sure the clock hits zero.

Nonetheless, great play by Traore. Lots of young talent that should be ready to take over in 2024.

It’s amazing how you are able to vomit every cliche in all of your responses. Quite impressive.

Dude it was a huge play by a freshman. Things happen. I am 100% ok with him and his teammates celebrating.

You are a good judge of talent
Bllaahh Accountability Blahhhh separation Bllaahhhh Bend Bllaahh Athleticism. Bllaahhh I played corner in the big 10 but don’t have any clue other than what I regurgitate from message boards. And yes I’m a good judge of talent. But better at detecting bullshit BrownerandFry

Excellent job at showing your football pedigree in one post!

Im not sure they don’t get the field goal anyways, right?
Watched the replay. There were six seconds left when Williams went down. Maybe USC calls a timeout there if we don't - there was no sign they were trying to call one - but they were barely gonna get the snap off.

If he just laid on top of him for another second rather than getting up to celebrate I don't think CW would have had the time to get another snap off to kill the clock. Lack of awareness from a young Boub. I'll forgive him if he continues to make plays like this and has a name like Boubacar

In realtime—and again in watching it again—I thought it was less a mistake by Boob & Co and more a heady play by Williams. He recovered, got the ball to the official, and got his offense set in a span of about 5 seconds. Obviously questionable that they would’ve gotten the play off, but to even give themselves a chance was pretty remarkable.

Its a win / win. There was a cost (3 points instead of zero), and at halftime I'm sure it weighed on him. But the frosh is going to learn a big lesson (win). And the big lesson learned didn't end up costing anything of consequence (win).

That was the fastest any play has ever gotten off in the history of football. C'mon refs.

It's one thing to celebrate, it's another to be about 15-20 yards behind the play celebrating when the sack happened near the LOS. If you watch, marist, boub, and sneed after the sack is made keep walking and celebrating for 10+ yards away from the LOS. That should never happen or be allowed in any circumstance let alone one where the opposition will rush to try and snap the ball.

Clock was clearly at 0 before they snapped the ball. No guarantee when freeman was watching his players be idiots though, so correct move by freeman.

Those 3 100% cost ND 3 points being selfish. It didn't cost us in the end, so easy to forgive and move on from, but imagine if that happened at OSU and we lost 17-14 like we did.

I’ve been saying this for awhile: Look at Foskey’s measurables coming out of high school. Traore’s are the same, and Traore was a significantly higher rated recruit. Probably bc he’s really quick and long.

Sampson said it
But then Prister and O'Malley basically all agreed they've heard the same thing.
They almost made it seem like it's a sure fired thing that he's about to be a stud.

He was being compared to "who's more likely to be a star next year" (him, ausberry, sneed or someone else) sounds like they've heard some very very good feedback

If the feedback was that good it seems odd that he didn’t play when vyper saw so little production. 🤔

It’s possible the staff wanted to preserve his redshirt ( I believe he did preserve his redshirt but that may not be accurate) and/or be confident he had a total grasp of the defensive playbook even if his natural abilities were apparent. Hopefully that pays off with a big step in the right direction for 2024, sounds like folks are optimistic.
