I don't think most fans here ever believed those excuses. Although some ND fans did because it avoided having to criticize the administration/athletic department.

Very few football players would be admitted if they were not football players. The issue is whether they have to go to class, etc., or not, once at ND. But I agree that the academic standards excuse was always false and propaganda.

They don't seem to trust their Joe Moore Award O-line to pass protect, either.

My cousin was on the golf team (lol) at North Dakota State and even they got a ton of academic help.

I'm guessing Notre Dame keeps a close eye on guys unless and until they prove otherwise?

Okay...I've taught athletes at ND. I know that they go to class. I was talking about college athletes in general, not at ND. The issue is whether college athletes, at any given school, have to attend class, not whether being an athlete helps them get admitted.

Because they did it being a northern school in a declining demographic in the country with guys who actually go to class. They haven't been stealing signs since like game 7.

If they can do it, so can ND.

They cheated their way through two plus years of the weakest schedule any P5 power could have dreamt of to get the weakest Bama team in twenty years and Washington,… and got away with it.
