It looks like we may be in the process of turnover at a pivotal position. Let's overlook possibility that Guidugli could be promoted for this exercise and discuss names who might make the shortlist.

Who are some innovators/outperformers in the offensive space?

Wasn't there smoke ND was looking at Brennan Marion?
There was but I don't buy it and will be happily proven wrong. It seems a little too cutting edge and goes away from what Freeman wants for the program

Marion's go-go system or whatever it was called was predicated on fast-paced, high play count offenses. This would not play well into the OL/DL-driven mantra of Freeman. I think he wants an innovator but with some traditional tenants in the architecture. Defense would definitely suffer if we wanted his offense as described in his Youtube vides/excerpts I can find with google.

Marion is impressive but getting a new job every year and the self-promotion is concerning. Is it worth hiring someone who is instantly looking for a new job?

I wonder who will have play-calling duties for the bowl game. A trial run for Gino, a la Mike Elston?

Is there any chance it goes to anyone else but Gino? I want to believe, but I feel like Freeman will just make the simplest move.
What has he done since arriving that leads you to believe he makes the 'simplest move'? Was it his tireless recruiting? Was it flying in two different OCs to be interviewed? Was it the impending hiring of a new S&C Coach who has no ties to the NCAA?

What has he done that has looked low effort? Mike Brown? Mickens? his stellar ST coaches?

I would not be surprised if Gino is retained with at least a "Co-OC" tag. I also expect that they will kick the tires on Hartline for a number of reasons and would just have him coach TEs if it were going to be a fit.

Probably. I might even be able to talk myself into it based on the last few games and him being more involved.

At the end of the day, I am on the same page as:

I don’t have a problem necessarily if it’s Gino. I just don’t want the smoke and mirrors of a national search if they’re not actually going to. Come out and promote him with no interim tag, or do a national search. No in between.

Frank Smith from Dophins or bring back Denbrock of new Heisman fame

I could be wrong, but I think it was discussed at length earlier that the name go go isn't what it appears. It's actually a run first offense and wasn't all that hurry up. Example, they averaged only 6 or so plays per game more than ND and weren't in the top 50

Casey Woods, SMU OC and TE coach, 2 yrs experience as an OC at SMU, was TE coach and recruiting coordinator at Mizzou before that.

Many good ones out there, tho.
