Does he have any career connections to the South?

EDIT: Looks like a few years at UT-Martin is it. (I don’t think Kentucky really counts as the South).
People who live south of the ohio river would like a word with you. But yes as someone who lives 5 miles from the "south" I disagree

We will be told it’s gonna be an extensive search and they will interview a highly desirable candidate or two. End result will be Gino.
It's a weird dynamic having your TE coach as an OC...most good play callers I feel like are QB guys.

If the rumors of Gino taking over playcalling after the 2nd bye are true, I would not hate it. The play calling was much better & he did well as OC at Cincinnati

I don’t have a problem necessarily if it’s Gino. I just don’t want the smoke and mirrors of a national search if they’re not actually going to. Come out and promote him with no interim tag, or do a national search. No in between.

Reflecting back on all of the recent transfer portal commits and the amount of times I’ve wondered “how have we been pulling this off with this guy at OC”, it makes me wonder, in hindsight, whether or not Gerad being on his way out was already secretly in the works.

One step further - I wonder if we already have someone else close to lined up and it’s helped transfers buy in.

Pipe dream, but a guy can dream. We have a playoff-caliber roster + schedule next season, and an above-average OC could finally put us over the top.

I have spent the last ten minutes perusing articles and fan forums about the Troy coaching search. The fans expect an announcement today or tomorrow as supposedly the deal is being finalized. However, I have not seen GP's name mentioned one time in any of the info I have looked at. If it is Parker, this has been the greatest secret ever.

John Brice is normally on top of these things.

Troy is way too good of a landing spot for a guy getting "pushed out." It's not UMass. It's a job worth taking for any coordinator. They are 23-4 over the last two seasons.
Parker did coach under Neal Brown, who was successful at Troy. Makes sense that they'd go back to someone from his coaching tree.

Hopefully, it's a steppingstone for him to take over scUM after Khaki pants leaves! Fuck michigan! Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest!
