All this time we thought it was Manti, but is KVA the real Polynesian who was Promised?

I’m absolutely not getting worked up over it, because worrying about high-risk high school prospects in the age of NIL seems foolish. MFMF and staff have already shown that they can address both depth AND add impact via the portal….

Having said that, this is starting to feel like a situation where KVA is feeling that pull from his initial intuition that OSU was the right fit for him. He admitted as much when he committed, saying he felt OSU was the place until he felt that God would want him to choose the tougher road based on faith, so he picked ND.

My gut says he “prayed” on it, aka made the choice that his parents liked based on the “choose hard” sales pitch from ND. His parents are very outwardly pressing that he will be at ND soon, which could be genuine… or could be them flexing their muscle and parental wishes on KVA, who they know could very easily make a different choice based purely on football after having had time to stew on God’s harder path.

This is exactly where I’m at. Not worrying about it, but also taking it at face value.

Thanks for the support. To pretend we gain no insight from his likes or to immediately just write all of the OSU likes off as “RL support” or “probably just trolling” is just burying your head in the sand, IMHO.

It’s probably much more likely that he’s feeling some legitimate OSU pull rather than he just decided to dig up and like OSU posts to rile up their fanbase. Again, this is how KK played out. There’s no uncle now, but likes are often representative.

This is not how Keon Keeley played out at all. His mom put out a feeler tweet saying they'd take money for his commitment more or less, and then they got paid. KVAs mother is VERY publicly in NDs corner and not taking the highest bidder.

Edit: If anything, this would be way more Peyton Bowen than Keeley. Even though I'm 95% confident he signs with ND in a week.

The similarity is Keon being all up in Bama’s likes a bit before his mom made the comment she did.

It’s not apples to apples, but you could tell he still had Bama very much on his mind even before the $$$ comments.

Agree that Bowen is a fair comp (in terms of social media interactions)

Sneed has a make-or-break year in ‘24 for sure. And I agree he and KVA play different version of linebacker.
Was just noting we have seen five-star LBs who did NOT see the field right away. Several of them actually.
Exactly my point, even more to list but I just kept it in the last decade to 15.

5 stars scrubbing commitment stuff in favor of more winning, NIL factories as signing day approaches is never good. I think we land him but it's not nothing.

I’m more worried about the fact that he is wearing Ohio St shirts in his most recent videos talking about his religious group and workout.

Hasn’t liked any of the recent ND news, liked another Hayes Fawcett cryptic tweet, wearing OSU stuff and liked an OSU tweet asking him to “come home”.

Buckle up.

Isn’t it weird to cyber-stalk HS kids’ social media accounts? Is it just me who thinks so?

It's not *that* weird to see what they're posting

It's defiantly weird - and should be a crime - to post on a high school kid's socials.

Also liked the Usc kid flipping to Michigan, Marists’ declaration, and a tweet about Beaux visiting. So yea, we dont know shit lol
Its almost like we shouldn't pearl clutch and read into socials like its going to change anything.

But yeah, my gut is that he comes to ND 11th hour saying “hey I need $X to sign” and then ends up at OSU. I swear to god every time I see parents going pro-ND while the kid does random stuff on social it ends with it being a play for more $$. This would be the first time in like 2 years where that wasn’t the case (if he signs with ND).

Haven’t seen these kinds of “this is weird” objections to most IE watches on Riley Leonard’s Instagram follows, probably because those are largely in our favor. If you find this weird but haven’t questioned the Riley IG watch, maybe some should take off the blue and gold colored glasses.

In any event, this is the KVA thread on a blog partially dedicated to recruiting. Yes, I follow him and try to make an informed decision on his interests - sue me. His recent OSU following is not cause for panic, but it is cause for discussion. And no, it’s never ok to tweet at recruits.
