Random Transfer Portal Question:

If a guy, say Sam Hartman plays 4 years at WF, and GTs to ND and plays 1 year. When he goes to the league and they do player bio/intros. What does he say?

Sam Hartman: Notre Dame OR

Sam Hartman: Wake Forrest?
I believe it's the school you are drafted "out of" so I think it'd be Notre Dame. And it is a weird situation and if I were Wake Forest, I'd be salty about it.

Think about Chris Tyree. ND put 4 years into his development. He transfers to UVA, will likely have his best year and become draftable and it'll say "Virginia". I don't know if the players are allowed to override that. I have seen some reference their high school instead of their college but it might've been somethign else driving that.

From a brand standpoint he’s be smart to say ND.

It's usually the last school they attended. Sometimes on player intros they give their highschool/hometown.
Why would it not simply be up to the player to say whatever college (or hometown I guess) that they choose?

If we get a few guys back on DL and add Oden and a safety that's good, I think the biggest question mark will be OL next year. We will have new starters but I think Craig is going to be a stud once he gets more experience and Billy S is gonna be good too

Would be incredible to pair Watts with another NFL safety. And I think Gray will be a better cover corner than Hart, and Morrison may even tackle given it's his NFL year. Many moving parts, but potential for an even better DB room.

Hardest position to recruit in the portal too. We have good raw material on the roster, but things might be a little bumpy to start. We’ll soon find out how good Rudolph is at his job.

I've been extremely high on Gray since high school, but that's a high bar. Anything close to what Hart did this year and we'll have 1 of the best cb rooms in the country again.

Innocent question...why isn't Hart projected as a higher round pick given his past season? Injury history? Speed?

IMO Hart is a little stiff and his speed is good not great. He excels in the box as a tackler/short yardage routes. I bet he's a ~4th rounder.

Quite possibly the top grad transfer Safety in the portal at the moment. Chris O'Leary just followed him.

He could go full heel at the bowl game. Walk out to the 50 yard line, toss his OSU helmet and put on a ND helmet. Have Jim Ross go “by God, that’s Notre Dame’s music!”

I think 3rd or 4th sounds right, and he's a little stiff, but he does have good top speed.

He had a better year than Morrison because I think Hart was more locked in at all times than him.

Morrison had some mental lapses this year, bad penalties, poor missed tackles, etc, but still had a very good year.

I think Hart will run a good 40, wouldn't be shocked if it's sub 4.5

Thought no way a serious team would take a chance on McCord. It sounds like Syracuse is emerging as a top school courting him per a few tweets I've seen.

For his sake, I hope Billy Napier has a nice sized buyout to get paid when they fire him 1/2 through next season. Florida is a dumpster fire.
