FSU’s offense looks like hit garbage so I’m coming around to saying they’re not a top 4 team with their qb out.
Yeah. It’s hard to say an undefeated P5 champ shouldn’t make the playoff but without their QB they’d probably get rolled by all the others. Also their best win is… LSU?

TBF that turned out to be a pretty good win and really calls into question the whole “the sec is just objectively better” narrative. Two biggest SEC out of conference games this year were FSU stomping LSU and Texas beating Bama in their house.

I don’t think the SEC is “objectively better,” but LSU lost three games and all the other CFP contenders have a better best win than Florida State does.

Their QB won't be playing in the post season game. They deserve to be in the Playoff.

They held Louisville to 6 points. That's ridiculous
I’m all the way back around to this position. Fuck Bama fuck georgia.

Those last two series were the most clutch dominant defensive football I’ve ever seen in college football. They folded Palmer up like an origami crane.

If Auburn beat Bama last week and everything else happened the same, who’s in?

Plus nobody wants to see a repeat of the big 10 championship game in the CFP semis because FSU's offense (with injuries) = Iowa's offense

UW UM FSU Texas

Instead I think it should be UW UM Texas Alabama. Sucks for FSU but it's written into the committee bylaws that they will consider availability of key players and coaches. That team just isn't close to the same without Travis.

If Michigan played FSU the score would probably be 7-3.

I have never been more convinced of a Top 4, knowing that it will never happen:

UW
Texas
Alabama
Georgia

Michigian is under serious investigation for cheating and should never even be considered. Not to mention, they were gifted two TDs against Iowa to make that game look more lopsided. (And c'mon Iowa...zero points in a conference champ game?! GTFO). I can't wait to see these new PAC teams run through the new B1G. Fuck Michigan.

Florida State, sorry, it breaks precedent and goes against what we all believe, that results on the field matter. However, w/o their starting QB, they just aren't a top 4 team and it's painfully obvious. They have to be eliminated from consideration.

I know most hate the SEC bias but objectively, Georgia and Bama have been the best teams in recent history. Having them elilminate each other proves nothing. We all know they'd both be favored over any of the matchups given and that should matter.

Lastly, this is the last year for the final four so screw it. Blow it up. Put in the best four and let everyone who got left out bitch and moan and get ready for next year when there is 12. There never should've been less than 6 imo, but I digress.

I’m fairly certain that if Auburn had won all of these bubble teams would be out and they would just slide UGA back to 4.

This applies to Georgia too who isn't' fully healthy while playing in the SECCG but would be by the playoffs, correct?

I saw someone make the point that Georgia falling out of the Top4 after being ranked #1 for so many consecutive weeks (while barely losing to Bama while not fully healthy and being robbed of a call) would have to be considered. We've seen it happen, have we not? #1 drop to #4 but not completely out? Maybe I'm misremembering.

I honestly might boycott this year if they leave out the SEC champ. That makes me sick to my stomach because we're all supposed to hate them, but seriously what are we doing if they don't include the best teams in the playoffs? *I'm also painfully on edge over the possibility of Michigan winning a NC, investigation aside, during a year when the committee and NCAA are basically giving it to them.

Either FSU or Texas is going to be snubbed I think. So look forward to an offseason of "we're on a mission" "unfinished business" and "us against the world" stuff from the snubbed. And they'll have a point.

Texas I can ignore, but FSU I cannot, living in Florida. And we play them next year.
Don't know how we can compete with a team on a mission. Blah blah blah.

12 team playoffs should've started this year.
It's similar to the perfect storm that ended the BCS.

FSU, OSU, and UGA are all getting bent.

FSU doesn't belong without their QB. They are not manufacturing enough offense to be competitive. That's a key personnel loss.

1. UW
2. UM - barf
3. Bama
4. UT

Ive gone around in my head. Bama struggled mightily out of the gate and lost to another playoff team to start the year. They have the best & most recent high quality win in beating Georgia. They get the nod ahead of UT, who hasn't played consistently better football.

This would be incredible football matchups.

I don't think Bama is getting in ahead of FSU. And they sure aren't getting in ahead of Texas. It stinks... I really think Bama would be favorite over every team that will make it in, but win your games and you don't have to worry about a committee. Our consolation will probably be Louisville in the Orange Bowl I believe. That's not a trip I would make to see Bama though.

If they put FSU in over Bama or UGA then Michigan might win it all with the shittiest resume ever.

If it wasn't switching to 12 teams, then it would change scheduling forever. You'd never see good out of conference games again.

I know this is suppose to be part of it. But does a hypothetical Washington vs FSU with a 3rd string QB semi finals game get any ratings/revenue?

Hell if its Michigan vs FSU that might be more boring that the Iowa game last night.

Now that the dust has settled.... what if Notre Dame were sitting undefeated right now? Would you have them in the top 4?

If we were undefeated, I would have us in at 4

1. Washington
2. Michigan
3. FSU
4. Notre Dame

What do you guys think?

It finally happened but the idea of a 4 team playoff with 5 Power conferences was flawed. Someone is losing out that deserves to battle for a title. Glad this insanity is coming to an end.
