They're buddies how? Did they play together because they haven't coached together.
There is a good amount of entanglement with the ND coaches and OSU coaches. Freeman, Laurinaitis, and Hartline all played together. AL Washington and Frye are tight, Alford...

I think the "Wisconsin" label is hurting Mike Brown's reputation on IE. Badgers QB sucked balls in the one year he was there.

Convincing CJ Williams (borderline 5 star) to go from Cali to WI shouldn't be overlooked.
cj williams is as close to a 5star WR as Jordan Johnson

So lets say he hires Hartline as a wr coach/co-oc, what narrative are we supposed to follow?
Are we happy cause he brought in a great receivers coach or are we mad because he hired a buddy?
Good recruiter, has never called plays, iSn'T pOrKeR.

Cracker Jack logic says the narrative is it's the greatest hire ever and Freeman grew a brain again.

Hartline has not called plays, he along Parker is obviously an issue. BUT, you have to think Hartline brings in ELITE talent. That fixes a lot of issues.

Even though I still think Hartline is an absolute pipe dream...is there a possibility since he basically has no real game day role for the offense at OSU?

Starting to believe we need to find a legit coach that can develop talent..I get it recruiting is important but stuckey could recruit. In the end when you get them on campus it's time to perform

We shouldn't have to pick one or the other.

A good recruiter but not so good position coach is a losing proposition every time.

Well time for me to stop my Mike Shanahan as new OC/WR coach push. It sounds like he, along with JMU's DC and QB coach, are ALL going to Indiana with Cignetti (who even got a Saban endorsement!). I'll have to admit, reading this recap of the JMU team and their success and now heading to Indiana makes me feel jealous. I so wish this could be ND, putting together, retaining (in this case, even moving to new gig together) and developing a great O and D staff from coordinators on down. And it showing with the team and individual player success. Now, we'll have to see how this crew does at IU which will certainly be a challenge in the new Big 20 but man does this team from Coach Cignetti on down look well put together and ready to go to work. MFMF could learn a thing or two here.

Well that’s a first time HC hire. If Parker really does suck as OC MF would have learned it being a HC in the MAC.

Ok, so with Shanahan now looking to be off the market, let's go to another hot up and coming OC (and he's only the OC, not any position coach) - Mack Leftowich Had a great year with Texas State being a top 10 O in FBS this year. Sadly (for us), he's a top candidate for the UTEP HC opening since he played QB there for college ball.

Yeah, the more I read about coaching candidates, the more I realize if they're good, they're candidates for a number of openings and in many cases, promotions to the next level openings.

These Washington receivers are lethal. Can't imagine anyone would leave that talent to come and coach ND's receivers.
Polk and Odunze are gone after this season.
Macmillan could go too based off last season, but may come back because he's only played a few games this season due to injury.

How about this Liberty Passing Game Coordinator and WR Coach (helping Porker stay around and save face)? Didn't Liberty Biberty have a shootout earlier today and score some points?
