Just curious, what do you love about him?

I like his intelligence, maturity, solid hands, and effort/blocking… but I think his ceiling is a solid to maybe good college WR
Exactly that. They don’t currently have *any* other reliable WRs in their room. Not a single one. Thats why Rico’s traits make him valuable.

He's not going to be Tyreke Hill but we also don't know if he could be DeAndre Hopkins or Cooper Kupp as he continues to improve different elements of his game. By all accounts he has a few of the most important traits of a great wide receiver. Extremely hard worker/motivated, great hands, runs good routes and has a feel for the game.

First true frosh in the history of Notre Dame to lead the WRs with most snaps played

(O'Malley is still trying to verify this, but putting it out there)

It's a myth that anyone has hated on Rico. This stuff needs to stop, lol.

Pretty sure we'd have to review the tape/thread from the Duke game. Kid got thrown into the fire and did pretty well given the circumstances, but definitely felt some heat from posters. Hartman and Rico failed to hook up on 5 pass plays during the game, but Rico ended up being instrumental in the final go ahead drive. Rico drew a PI call when we were backed up on our own 3 yard line on 3rd and 10, which gave us life. He also had a big catch later in the drive for 24 yards that got us into Duke territory, eventually setting up the Estime run to seal it.

If there's hate buried in the gameday thread, I'm pretty sure Lou Holtz himself and Al Golden have hate there, lol. All I've seen people say is he's not a field WR (he's not) and he's not fast enough to separate outside of the slot in 1x1s (he's not). And then in turn praise his catching, ability to be on the field as a freshman (no small feat), and YAC ability.

He's not Randy Moss and will never win 1x1s against big time competition, and that's perfectly fine - he can be a really good WR for us still and he's shown that. The "people hate Rico" narrative has to die, it's not true and a waste of everyone's time.

I bet you thought Wes Welker was useless as well.
the guy that had 3000 receiving yards for TT?

He was NOT fast, but had very good agility getting in and out of breaks and cuts.

You comparing him to rico? I think similar speed, but need to see more agility getting in and out of breaks and cuts.

People take my frustration on how he was used as to that I don't like him at all. I think the coaches put him in a terrible spot this year regarding his strengths and weaknesses and giving him a chance at succeeding. He did really well in crossers and PA, but struggled big time vs press man, I think that's fairly obvious. He's a physical possession WR with good hands and maturity physically and mentally for his age. The fact they didn't take the pressure off him more with faison/tyree until the end of the season to help open things up underneath, was criminal.

Way more disappointed in the coaches use of him (not amount) vs rico himself.

I heard that too...if true, this is a mass exodus like nothing I've ever seen.

247 poster mentioned it. BD is alluding to it in his show also. Saying it’s expected but for different reasons than James. Assuming he wants to go back out West.

A WR that had no business seeing the field as a frosh, yet led the WRs in snaps is thinking of transferring after 3 other WRs transferred. Nothing to see here.

I was in a mental frenzy 15 minutes ago but now I am over it. This is good. Something dramatic does need to happen.

So we fired Stuckey to retain Colzie and Selarno?
THOMAS

The WR I expected to have a monster year is going to blow up in the bowl game!!!

.......In the first half before he re twings his hamstring since our S&C team have no clue how to help a player recover from hamstring strain.
