Harvey is a nice player, but he lost his starting role to younger, more dynamic guys down here at the U. One of those guys is Ruben Bain, who will be a Top 10 draft pick in 2 years (just a complete monster, and the strength he displayed as a true freshman is something I haven't seen in a loooooong time).

Harvey definitely isn't plug and play, but he's a guy that can give you 10-20 good snaps per game. Would be a good add on the DL.

Not a dick question at all, and one many are probably wondering. Who knows what happens - Oregon is a healthier program right now (proven NIL, QB development, better coaching). Maybe he just loves ND? Maybe he doesn't want to go West? Maybe Oregon does get him?

No need to apologize for a good question.
That's all I was saying, it's definitely a head scratcher coming from Duke. If you want to advance yourself academically you go to ND, if you want to advance yourself as a QB....You go to Oregon, it's pretty simple. I hate when people get butt hurt over something so obvious but because it's not "Pro ND to the point of looking like a fool" ....I'm a dick...ROFL

ND was able to get Brandon Joseph through admissions and he wasn't a grad transfer. Leonard wasn't a EE so I doubt he'll have his degree. If they get Leonard through admissions my theory is that they're able to take non-grad transfers who are more than 1 year out of HS as long as they come from elite academic institutions, like Northwestern and Duke. The same thing would probably apply to players from Stanford and Vanderbilt.

The only exception to the rule I can think of is Brandon Joseph as I am 99% sure he wasn't a grad transfer and enrolled as a senior. It's certainly not possible for the average student which is my top concern here. ND thinks they can get him in and they've already passed on Howard. Then admissions puts a halt to it.
I was thinking Joseph was a grad transfer. I guess he wasn't.

It looks like Joseph's timeline would be similar to Leonard. Joseph was not an EE. Did 2 1/2 years at prior school, transferred in January midway through his junior year.

Sounds like a JJB type then. That worked out just fine.

You know who else looked bad against ND this season? Every other QB, including the prior year's Heisman winner who was still on a path to a 2nd Heisman until ND acetoned his fingernails.

I would love to have Leonard. His running ability with our super athletic RBs could create some serious binds for defenses next year. We could easily see his completion percentage increase in our system (if we can find good tackle replacement(s)). Our TEs will also be better and our WRs are likely better and potentially much better if we add a TP WR.
POY quality right there my friends.

You're not wrong. In Oregon's case, the rumor is they are getting Cam Ward.

Oh wait, so that would answer my question....I was thinking Leonard was a grad transfer, if he's leaving the Duke degree behind for ND that makes a whole lot more sense to me.

No not JJB, JJB was a big time recruit that for some reason wasn't getting the PT at OSU he deserved (has played and is better than sawyer).

Harvey like others said is closer to Nana than JJB.

I don't know if you're being mean to me or not...haha
Totally joking. I was a little passive aggressive in my prior post so wanted to "clear the air" with, what I thought was, a funny joke poking at myself that you weren't really being a dick and I'm just trying to see things through green-tinted glasses after a mildly frustrating season.

I think Duke and ND are fairly on par academically - on the whole. Its not like the kid is transferring from OSU.

Loy just posted that ND is going to be very aggressive in the portal this year. Freeman mentioned something in his press conference about working with admissions. Is it happening?!
Good. While I disagree with ND not paying for elite recruits, I will be okay with it if they pay for quality grad transfers and any undergrads that they can get through admissions.

This is the way. Stacking top 10 recruiting classes, retaining talent, while filling holes with top transfer pieces. Assuming there is a "war chest" of sorts for the these transfer funds, I think that formula is ultimately maximized when you don't need to overpay for a QB relative to other positions.

247 is offering 75% off for the year, final day of offer. It's $2.26/month for 12 months - FYI in case anyone's interested.
