Ha Ha! Savvy Jack told MF to keep Parker. Its too expensive to get a legit OC. Its time to realize the BOT is fine with being a Top 20 program. We maxed out under Brian Kelly - and he left for a program that is serious about Nattys. Being an ND Fan is a real challenge.

Ugh.

More proof this is bad!

I wouldn't read too much into that. Goolsby knows even less than we do.
Goolsby has been more right this year than I expected. He’s one of the few who didn’t think Hartman was that talented when he first transferred
Yes, but...that's 100% because he was butt-hurt that Hartman effectively gave Buchner the boot. Goolsby had a MAJOR man-crush on Buchner.

So because hes a kid its not credible? Pretty sure Pete Sampson and Tyler Horka reported the same story before the Tribune.

Making myself look foolish!?! Says the clown picking fight on a message board. Stay classy buddy.
It does look like he made a play on the South Bend Tribune. Not sure if they still have it, but that used to be the same font they had on the front page.

Where did you read this? Or are you just assuming?

MIGHTY LSU! 9-3, champions of 3rd place...in the SEC...West...
Being an ND Fan is a real challenge.
No argument there.

Vikings had 12 last night. On Monday night football.

I'll be sure to bring it up on a daily basis in the spirit of #neverfoget
two plays in a row after two incomplete passes that both allow for easy substitutions? One happens, back to back........ oh boy

So if Freeman wins 8 to 9 games in 2024 and 2025 seasons but he reflects well on the University and is likable - does he get a contract extenion and stay on as HC?

I think he will get a legit extension. I don't think being Top 10 or 10 win seasons is a deal breaker for the BOT.

If we get leonard and most of the team back that we want and a few other NIL transfers, 10 wins has to be the absolute floor next year with our schedule, should have been absolute floor this year. We were better that every team we faced, including OSU. OSU was the only team IMO we weren't significantly better than, yet we have 3 losses.

2025 same as 10 wins absolute minimum as long as we don't add some some insane teams to the schedule.

We are not getting 10 regular season wins if we keep War Daddy. Experienced coaching matters.

You guys are being too negative. Lets see what he can do in year two.
From Sampson's article in The Athletic, it sounds like Parker will be back.

Marcus Freeman thought about Gerad Parker. And then Notre Dame’s head coach thought about Luke Fickell. Bridging that gap — the one between his current offensive coordinator after a volatile debut and his own introduction as a defensive coordinator at Cincinnati — helped settle Freeman on Parker’s return as offensive coordinator next year.

Freeman’s first full season as defensive coordinator was a statistical bomb, allowing 31.8 points per game with one of the worst pass defenses in the country. What came next has been well documented, Freeman growing into his coordinator role

It's simply not apples to apples. Parker already proved he wasn't cut out for OC previously, having failed at WVU. Freeman had not only NOT failed as co-DC while at Purdue, he did well enough to earn the Cinci job. There was a reason to believe Freeman would get better as time went on. We can't point to a single data point on Parker's resume that suggests the same.

Next year will be very telling with new starting tackles, no Estime, new QB, so/so play from WRs so far. Make or break year for both Freeman & Porker.

Just my opinion but if they didn’t have Estime this year the offense would’ve been very pedestrian to bad.

Don’t let analytics get in the way of instinct and gut feeling. Guy sucked when it counted and it wasn’t because of execution. Guy is a dolt when it comes to playcalling when the pressure is on.
I'm actually more concerned with his building of a game plan and then coaching it during the week.

It was obvious there was no plan to use PA, and the plan was to load our line and run into loaded box almost every first down. That's what's alarming the most to me. Also, it sounds like parker/freeman expected teams to defend ND like they defended everyone else which is insane.

How our offense performed in the big games over and over is a clear reflection of the game plan and coaching of it during the week, the play calling although important, isn't as important as the game plan created, coached for 5 days, and then adjustments made during the game.

Losing Tyree as well. Plenty of losses with this senior class.

But its not a "Make or break year" for Freeman. I think 10 wins is not the objective of the BOT and that is the problem. I think Freeman can stay as long as he wants as long as he is mostly a ranked team - Top 20, run a clean program and be proud of what you got. Like a decent Standford or Iowa but better academics. He isn't getting to the CFP anytime soon with retaining inexperienced, non-performing OC and he is not getting fired, either.

Freeman might be banking his future on keeping Parker. Hopefully it'll pay off for him, but I have my doubts.
As a whole, the offensive staff is pretty good, they should be able to build a really good plan to attack teams utilizing our strenghts.

It's not like Parker is deciding on saturday to run the ball every first down, that's decided during the week by him. Now, hopefully there will be more input on how you attack in the passing game, and what you do on first downs, create PA opportunities, short yardage, etc.

Not ideal, prefer we have a home run OC, but i can see how it should improve.

Does Fisher even get drafted? I don't know how much he'd make in NIL, but probably more than an NFL practice squad check. I realize he wants to play in the NFL, but I don't see a path for him to do that next year. It's not like he's a WR who can go run a 4.3 at the combine and shoot up boards. It's almost all tape on the oline and there are 30+ tackles out there with better tape than his.

Pete S seems to think he won't even play in the bowl game. Expects Estime, Alt, and Fisher to declare and not play.
Depending on what defense we face this could be a preview to 2024 for Porker, minus Hartman which could be an even bigger test next year. For Porker's sake he better hope we draw LSU so he can look good.
