Seems like a great guy. I hope he stays on staff as a TE’s coach or finds great success at his next stop.

Whether it’s his fault, Freeman’s, or a combination of both his buddy is the HC so he draws the short stick. At least for now.

Sometimes I like to reminisce about the good times. Like Parker talking scheme during a press conference. “Everybody just want to see the ball go forward.”

Nobody is hanging with this guy? Disgusting I believe he’s close to getting us there.
ok you should have this whole thread in italics. He’s a great guy. Why don’t we bring back Gerry Faust while we’re at it?!
So many questions about his Playcalling and wasting talent. How many ND fans don’t want this guy gone now?! Execution could be better but the plays being called in general just aren’t very smart.

You forgot to mention who's really at fault here.

The admin. Their complete botching of the Ludwig situation resulted in this. Had they have done their job and not gotten caught off guard by the buyout situation, then Ludwig is OC, Parker stays as TE coach and we're probably delightfully...okay on offense.

What's laughable is that because the admin wasn't willing to pay the 2 million buyout, ND is likely missing out on a significantly larger payout from missing a NY6 or the CFP. Shortsighted doesn't begin to describe this idiotic admin.

He is definitely a good and well liked individual and a very good position coach.
He has had a tough job giving the state of the WR that Kelly, Rees and Del left.
It has totally been a failure though, and as everyone says he doesn't seem to call plays good.
He should probably take an OC job elsewhere or stay on for a bit doing the TE's.

I find the content of this thread to be entirely heinous, and yet more refreshing than at least 100 posts of the same boring negativity. At least this is funny.

Plus, there is zero usage of the word “frichan” so far. That in itself is a fucking blessing. Thank you, Giddyup.
Based on a few posters football knowledge, there’s some children posting on here. I don’t want to swear in-front of kids.

I am not saying they previous coaches didn’t leave us in a bad spot at WR with numbers but almost every recruit was good enough when we recruited them. There are teams across the country wished and dream of the talent we have in that room. Between the coaching and the players not executing/being lazy.

Some of it is scheme because Parker does do some stupid shit.

But a few weeks ago on hit and hustle they were talking about we had a room full of slot guys.

Are we 100% that Ludwig wasn't just using us for leverage and Jack sniffed it out?

We keep talking about the WR room. The offensive design and play calling and QB play into that. We lost Colzie and Salerno at the beginning of the season who couldn’t be worse than Tobias. We should have tried to convince Lenzy to come back. He was literally coming into his own last year. Sam throws a good deep ball and he is a good deep route runner. I’m guessing it’s crossed his mind. Styles riding the line at OSU was the wrong choice. He would be WR#1 by now if he lost his rock hands.

A year if what could have been again thanks to shitty coaching and shitty coaches.

Let me know when we get the good news about you know who.

That’s what will happen. These type of situations tend to have flash in the pan, heat of the moment re-assurances, that perpetuate the cycle of ineptitude.

An example is the Bears will be ready to write Justin Fields off entirely, then he has an amazing game. The chatter quiets for a moment, he has 3 awful games, the chatter loudens, then he has a decent game. Rinse, repeat.

That kinda happened with blow outs against USC and pitt, but if you really look specifically how the offense did, they only played one good half (second half of Pitt) in those 2 games despite the number of points.

I remember thinking coming out of half vs USC, the offense was going to explode due to the dumb 3 points we gave up to end the first half and freeman probably lit a fire under the team. Instead we got the ball went 3 and out, then got the ball again went 3 and out, then USC scored to actually make it a game. Then luckily our offense responded for one of our only 2 drives of more than 50 yds.

My point, our offense really hasn't played very well at all any game since CMU other than pitt, so there shouldn't have been blinders going into or after Louisville.

I can’t wait to see Parker advance this offense the rest of the year and next year. He’s grown a lot after all these games!!

I'm really excited to see what he can do with a QB that's never started a college game, isn't overly talented, and wasn't that highly recruited. I think having the all time passing leader in the ACC as your QB really set ND's offense back when ND clearly wanted to be a running team. It's obvious, hartman audibled into running plays that would go for no gain or a loss to ensure we had to pass the ball more. With an inexperienced QB starting under Parker, that QB will do exactly what Parker wants, and what parker wants is to continuously move the ball forward every single play. You don't stop moving the ball forward until you get into the end zone.

Can’t wait to see the huge amount of growth from GP this off-season. He’s gonna become truly elite in 2024!!

I'm in the hopeful camp after being underwhelmed by his first year. I can't predict a big change because we know so little about GP but if the transfers play out as we're hearing, he should have a lot of athletic players to build an offense how he wants.

If we get Leonard, he'll have had two extremely different high-quality QBs. If it was difficult to retrain Sam after his years of operating in the WF offense then Leonard should be almost plug-n-play for what they want. Also, we should have plenty of pass-catching options at WR, TE, RB.

Curious what kind of OL they can develop before we roll into College Station.
