I wonder if this is the year that Chris Creighton puts it all together at Eastern Michigan.

As in winning the MAC? After last year, there might actually be some expectations there. I still think Toledo will win the West, though.

I think what he's done there to this point is one of the better coaching accomplishments you're going to find.

Oh absolutely it's a feat, Eastern Michigan has had no history and he's taken them to something like 5 bowls?

Yes. They finally won one in 2022 along with a share of the MAC West.

No tradition, very little resources even compared to MAC opponents, but they have been solid after the first two years he was there. He's only 54 and my hope is he gets a shot at a P5 job at some point.

I think he likely will; I believe he's even developed a few decent players into NFL guys too. Maxx Crosby for one

It is a very difficult place to win. Their history of coaches speaks for itself. Ron English was up and coming, took that job and will probably never get another HC opportunity now.

EMU was Crosby's only offer.

Toledo and Akron punched above their weight pretty well. Liberty has Freeze's players and Coastal Carolina's coach, so I thought BGSU didn't do too bad. Buffalo hung with Wisconsin for a little bit.

Early on it looks like the usual suspects will be up near the top. We'll see.

In terms of matchups, Ohio at FAU is probably the best bet.

CMU up next for ND at NC State.

The West looks like it could be Toledo yet again. East certainly looks like Ohio could also repeat but Miami OH may have something to say about it.

Buffalo is 0-4. A lot of 1-3 teams here including Bowling Green and Northern Illinois. Don't know when the hot seat kicks on for these but it could be coming soon.

Scott Loeffler gets some breathing room with a BGSU win over Georgia Tech. Wow.

Miami OH, Ohio and Toledo are rolling on with four game winning streaks.

I can't see any reason why Jason Candle is at Toledo next year unless he's got baggage that absolutely nobody would want, and I can't even begin to think of what that could be, or he genuinely wants to stay at Toledo forever. He's been there since 2009.

He seems like a P5 OC at the very least and could make that kind of move, ala Sean Lewis. Maybe I'm missing something, but they seem to be the cream of the MAC again and should win the MAC Championship provided they stay healthy for the second year in a row. He's 62-33 currently. They're miles away from the rest of the pack. This surely has to land him a gig this carousel.

Miami OH and Toledo still the dominant forces.

BGSU wins and they're bowl eligible. Bowling Green plays very good defense.

Ol' Chuck Martin is having a good season at Miami. They were a bit of a dumpster fire when he arrived. After a few ugly seasons he got them to a modest level sitting between 1st and 3rd in their division. This year looks to be his best year so far though, they're leading the East and their only losses are to Miami FL and a close one against the 8-1 Toledo Rockets who lead the West. They should be able to win out against Ball State, Akron, and Buffalo.

He took over an 0-12 team.

Closing in on his third MAC East division title. He's been given a lot of rope by his superiors.

It is satisfying to see a coach stabilize a place like Miami OH and become something of a campus institution. It has become so rare in this era of CFB for a coach to stay somewhere a decade or more. Either you win enough quickly to jump somewhere else, or you lose too much and are replaced within four years.

Frank Solich was another success story at OU.

NIU, man. Ouch. Ball State hat home should have been a winnable game for them.

Host WMU next week. Both teams are 4-6 and have to win out to get to bowl eligibility.

Year Five for Thomas Hammock. I hope regardless of what happens they stick with him.

Toledo is just a step above. Their only loss is the last second field goal at Illinois. BGSU wins and gets bowl eligible, sets up next week's MACtion Battle of I-75. BG's defense vs Toledo's offense.

Jason Candle has got to be getting Power Five looks in a few weeks, otherwise this guy has baggage we have yet to have opened yet.

- The Battle of I-75. BG coming in with some momentum, Toledo is the cream of the crop in the MAC.

-WMU and NIU are both 4-6. Bowl eligibility on the line

- EMU is 4-6. Akron has Joe Moorhead as HC and the carousel is going into full swing.

- CMU is 5-5 and needs to win for bowl eligibility. Ohio is 7-3

- Buffalo is 2-7 with nothing to play for, Miami OH trying to close out to the MAC Championship.

Watching Bowling Green blow an 18 point halftime lead against Toledo with some absolutely abysmal second half offensive play calling was pretty tough to watch until I remember that Scott Loeffler was a QB at Michigan. Suddenly the rest of my Tuesday night was pretty upbeat.

One of these days, Chuck Martin will win the MAC
He did it in 2019.

I hope he does it again this year at the expense of Toledo.

Idk why I thought he lost the Championship game that year.
