How’s he been this year? Realistically when would be ready to contribute in college? Really wish he would’ve reclassified last year. The dude is 19

The ideal scenario is he redshirts next year and is good enough to jump Minchey/Angeli in 2025

He’s been fine considering the talent shortcomings in his team.

Assuming a change at OC this off-season, any reason to be concerned about holding onto this one? I mean this will be the 3rd OC in as many years. Not the best look...

I’d be flat out stunned if anything swayed Carr at this point. He’s more committed to ND the school than just about any recruit in my recent memory. Maybe Bowen comes to mind. I would say CJ would be excited if we got a stud OC. Remember he went a little quiet when Rees was fired. His social media picked up when signs pointed to hiring Ludwig. Then he went a bit quiet again after Parker was announced. I think based on sticking through the ups and downs he might as well be signed at this point. I think barring something shocking with Freeman, he’s good as enrolled. Hell, he will be enrolled in 8 weeks. Not to mention most good teams already have a QB committed.

Feel free to log out of the site and avoid the consternation.
Why? I want to stay apprised of CJ news, but don't want to spend time checking it when it's just "wonder what he's thinking".

Maybe I'm the only one that feels that way on premier recruit threads given the turmoil, I could be wrong.

Completely agree, came here to basically say the same thing. This isn't based off of any report or source, but there has been nothing out of Carr's camp to suggest he's going to flip, regardless of question marks at OC.

He stuck around after the Rees debacle and definitely seems more committed to ND, and previously cited his love for CMF for his unwavering commitment amid the recent OC change.

He also said he wanted to get away for college but remain close enough where his family can come watch him play, so if that's one of his major deciding factors, his options to pivot are limited. Think Mid-west schools only.

TL;DR: No reason to be worried about his commitment.

The drama at Michigan probably makes him antsy to get the hell out of Saline too.

I think the only option for Freeman is a slam dunk OC hire. That will quiet the off season fan and media negativity about his 9-3 season. It will deflect from the how could you possibly do that bad with Sam Hartman crowd. It will lift recruiting and keep kids like Deuce excited.

Agree, as long as you don't make the same mistake at DC in the off season if Golden leaves.

Belleville has Underwood at QB1, correct?
yes and a bunch of other future D1 players:

Its probably the most stacked HS roster in long time in state of Michigan.

How is this public HS 20 miles outside of Detroit so stacked? They allowed to recruit?

well yeah they had a previous coach suspended due to recruiting violations.

Also so many schools in michigan are school of choice so it don't really matter where you live you can go there if you can make your own way to the school gates every day. The Program is just known for developing D1 players and the coaches were very active in the 7on7 circuit even nationally.
