We held them to 285 total yards and two TOs. Defense did more than enough as always.
That doesn’t include the pass interference yardage which was huge….and part of the D breakdown. And they give up 3 long drives to a trash offense. And 36 carries for 186 to Marah running behind a makeshift O line.

at the least, i hope we give angeli and minchey a shot these last three games. hartman doesn't need to see the field again. i like sam and wish him well, but it's time to start building for next year since freeman is gonna get at least one more year anyway.

It was the only time all year Clemson's been held to under 300 yards. Dude the defense was great again as always.

Like Dabo, Freeman is not an O guy and never will. be so it was all the more important he get the right OC in place. He can do this like Dabo building culture and being strong recruiter but he needs to schematic Xavier and Os help. Thank God we lost for a number of reasons most important of which is to confirm 100# current OC and strategy is not it and so changes have to be made and heads gotta roll. End of story

Otherwise, what’s the point?

I would like the administration to look at this for what it is. Freeman isn't the guy. Good recruiter? Maybe - but he makes bad decisions and loses games he shouldn't.

Rees was absolute dog shit. When he left, Freeman essentially chooses someone who will do what Rees did - just a little bit worse. Don't give me the buyout. Freeman cowered after that and ran to the first person he could find.

Why wait three seasons to know Freeman doesn't have what it takes? Time for a splash hire. Not a hire they backed into.

Defense was the most disappointing thing about today.

I don't care that Sam sucks and the play calling was pathetic.
Clemson with a back up running back, half their starting o-line out, and a crap QB ran right down your throat all day.
True until the fourth quarter. Then the defense stepped up and the offensive absolutely shit the bed.

That’s why IF they go for a transfer QB they can’t just get anyone. Needs to fit and buy info ND and what it’s all abo; other so, stick with the current room who wants to be here.

I think it is hard to get motivated once ND has 2 losses. I wasn't that into this game. I think the players may be similar. Alt might think about sitting the rest of the season. Very good ND career.
Hartman should suggest starting whoever is the best out of Minchey and Angeli.
We really missed Evans and might have managed a win with him playing. Maybe.
Watts got yet another pick. That was good.
I thought Morrison played well.
The WR development is bad. If there is a big time WR coach available for next season we have to consider them.

Guys they’re not firing Freeman, but he needs to be held accountable to his coaching hires and also supported in getting the best out there. Maybe a new AD can help drive some changes from the top. If he’s another JS, we in trouble 😢

Compared to previous seasons with Balis there seems to be a big drop off from strength & speed.
But Balis left in July, after the offseason stuff completed. Something’s wrong with our strength program tho. Our offensive line was manhandled today

The OL has struggled all season against good DLs on the road. The interior sucks and Fisher is inconsistent at best

This is probably more or less true.

The team last year was trash and the roster was so bad he had to get a QB from Wake effing Forest. The upper class skill positions are trash. The idea this team wasn't a rebuild is a bad take that doesn't acknowledge what was on the roster. If the goal is actually competing for championships, it absolutely was a rebuild.
Here’s the thing about doing a rebuild. Just like in a rebuild of a house, you better hire very competent subs to make it happen. We decided to go with the lowest bidder and ended up with the worst OC at Notre Dame in decades. The more we let this guy impact the offense, the longer it will take to fix things.

This team just isn’t very good and the offense is mediocre

There is a good amount of talent on this team. For some reason under Freeman they are terrible on the road. That’s on him end of story. His ability to interact with the offense must be terrible durning the game. No idea how we are keeping recruits. Again I will say it there are games it looks like we are the best coaches game and then other it’s like they have never coached. They better figure it out. Fire Parker be glad when Hartman is gone. He is a great rep but an average QB.

I'm always confused by the JS stuff. Do you guys think JS didn't want to get the best of everything that ND would allow? Do you really think the new AD is going to have more sway over the President/BOT than JS?

Yes, I do. The evidence is that Swarbrick and his minders (not Jenkins) didn't think Ludwig was worth the money, and vetoed the hire.

You know with the way PI is penalized in college, I have no problem with them if the DB is otherwise going to get burned and scored on. It’s the smart thing to do when it’s warranted

I'm very frustrated. I get that it's a game and it's not that big of a deal but it sucks taking time off work to fly out to catch a game and watch them lay an egg like that.

Clemson fans were polite and kinda trashy. I can relate to them in that respect.
I was at the Louisville game. Talk about laying an egg.

i hope next year isn't freeman's last because i want Notre Dame to win, but he's got shake up this offense and have some consistency with week to week preparation. not the only time we've come out flat in his two years as head coach.

All these comments and no one has mentioned wide receivers.

The smothering man coverage will continue until wide receiver talent improves. ND's best WR is arguably a freshman walk-on who is in South Bend to play lacrosse.

Some posters tried to remind everyone that ND will have trouble with defenses with athletic DBs and DL who will force ND to run outside...

Parker can get canned, and he should, but this roster needs a WR #1 or Peyton fucking Manning would look mediocre.
Who was wide open for potential game tying touchdown and Sam underthrew it bad.
