There is always next year. Just win out and get to 10 wins. The entire offensive staff needs to be fired except for Daelin.

I’m not one for knee jerk reactions after a loss, even one I feel we underperformed.

I think you play out the season, you still have something to play for. I might bench Hartman and only pull him in if we fall behind in either of the last 2 games. Take our bowl practices and try to answer some questions about next year.

I think Parker has to be let go at the end of the season, I don’t feel his replacement is in-house so little reason to make a change before the end of the season.

Now the 4th limp dick no show of a freeman team. He didn’t take over the 85 bears but this isn’t the rebuild Kelly inherited
The team last year was trash and the roster was so bad he had to get a QB from Wake effing Forest. The upper class skill positions are trash. The idea this team wasn't a rebuild is a bad take that doesn't acknowledge what was on the roster. If the goal is actually competing for championships, it absolutely was a rebuild.

Defense was the most disappointing thing about today.

I don't care that Sam sucks and the play calling was pathetic.
Clemson with a back up running back, half their starting o-line out, and a crap QB ran right down your throat all day.

Fucking embarrassment. Fire Parker tonight and Freeman is on notice.

Yeah god forbid they lose a game they were favored by.... 2.5 points... on the road. The horror.

Plenty of people knew this would be a tough one. Vegas knew. It wasn't a secret.

ND will go 9-3, play for Pop Tarts, and use the bowl practices to develop WRs. Then they will win a bowl game and everyone will be enthusiastic about the WRs until they play the next team with good athleticism next fall. The only way out is a stud transfer/NIL lure.

All these comments and no one has mentioned wide receivers.

The smothering man coverage will continue until wide receiver talent improves. ND's best WR is arguably a freshman walk-on who is in South Bend to play lacrosse.

Some posters tried to remind everyone that ND will have trouble with defenses with athletic DBs and DL who will force ND to run outside...

Parker can get canned, and he should, but this roster needs a WR #1 or Peyton fucking Manning would look mediocre.
They’re not without their fault but it all goes back to the scheme. There’s no offensive identity and the plays are basic and pathetic. The secondary doesn’t need to bail and can sit on short to medium throws all day.

 All you guys that wanted Rees gone. Calling Bubble Screens late on 3rd and 10. Funny thing, after that screen my WV buddy texted me: "Bubble screen on 3rd and 10, did you guys get your OC from WV?!" Yes, yes we did.

D made klubnik look good. That’s the most disturbing part. Yes, O sucks. The D was almost as bad. Makeshift offensive line for Clemson dominated.

I know Hartman doesn’t have a cannon….never has…….that was a noodle out there. Nothing on his throws
The defense is not the problem, at all. Expecting the d to win every game is stupid.

Exactly because Kelly for as big of a douche as he is would have fought Jack
Jack never would have put him in the position in the first place. The only time Jack dictated to BK was BVG and post 2016. He gave leeway until it was untenable. Marcus has never gotten that. He was saddled with Tommy the second he took the job, and got no support getting his preferred OC.

I don't agree with this. The defense came out flat and surprised. But our impression of them struggling all came from the first half. In the end, they only gave up 24 points, and they had how many sequential stops in the second half? They're the reason this was not a blowout.

You are just asking your offense to put up 25 points to win and not give up points also. That's not a huge ask in modern college football.

I'm very frustrated. I get that it's a game and it's not that big of a deal but it sucks taking time off work to fly out to catch a game and watch them lay an egg like that.

Clemson fans were polite and kinda trashy. I can relate to them in that respect.

Oh I think the scheme sucks, don't get me wrong. I just think the talent at WR is really, really bad too.

In modern football you need two WRs that are really tough to cover. ND has gone 5+ years without that.

Our defense is awesome, we have a NFL line, the oldest QB in CFB. Why is the line only -2 against a .500 team?

Because Parker is fucking awful. The -2 line is a result of him being... fucking awful.

The silver lining to this is we won’t have to watch ND get their backs blown out in a NY6 bowl 🫠

thomas is a huge loss because he knows how to use his body and read a defense. hartman and our wrs never seem like they're on the same page.

The D was bad today. Clemson had 5 offensive startera out….two on the o line and Their top running back. And they lost the trenches. You simply can’t do that.

It’s a very gold D that was bad today

Hartman was bad today. He played like Pyne.

Nah. Plenty of football commentators have mentioned repeatedly that Clemson was 4-4 because of self-inflicted wounds. They aren't as bad as their record. And college football is a game of matchups and Clemson was an obvious bad math up for ND.

Literally all of this was said by myself, Lax, and others in the last week. This game had me nervous as hell. ND played poorly and lost, and Parker does not deserve to keep his job.

But you can fire Parker and the WRs still do not get open in man coverage.

This all comes down to Swarbrick.

He shorted our program this year, and this is what he’ll be remembered for.

That game ball against USC should have went to Xavier.

Neither of those goofballs deserved anything. (Friar Tuck 2nd)

I would like the administration to look at this for what it is. Freeman isn't the guy. Good recruiter? Maybe - but he makes bad decisions and loses games he shouldn't.

Rees was absolute dog shit. When he left, Freeman essentially chooses someone who will do what Rees did - just a little bit worse. Don't give me the buyout. Freeman cowered after that and ran to the first person he could find.

Why wait three seasons to know Freeman doesn't have what it takes? Time for a splash hire. Not a hire they backed into.

Make a statement and have Gino call plays and see what you got. Doubt it happens though.

Compared to previous seasons with Balis there seems to be a big drop off from strength & speed.
