I love Mickens. I hope they can keep him around for awhile. However, the more I think about it the more I question whether we want Freeman to take the risk of a first time DC next season, if Golden were to leave.

The team is likely not better next year. Which would have me concerned about hiring a first time DC.

Colzie getting hurt and Merriweather not developing have really held back our passing game, I think. The others are solid but none can bring what those two could bring.

Fan wise I've always liked Colzie better than Thomas and without his injury I think he could've benefited having Hartman as his QB. I am stumped on Merriweather, we are 8 games in and I hoped he would've had better stats.

I wouldn't give up on Greathouse and Flores just yet but also they're freshmen. The truth is, we have a bunch of 2nd and 3rd WRs. No alpha dog. Probably no one (among our upperclassmen) who's going to impress NFL scouts. But we all knew this coming in.

I think the hope was that Hartman could distribute widely and make it hard for a defense to account for all the weapons. That worked the first four games but then guys got hurt and the defenses improved.
