Palestinians circumstances in Gaza aren’t due totally to Israel. Israel has been providing to Gaza. The expert in the one article I posted specifically said that Hamas was benefiting from the aid Israel was providing to Gaza.

I haven't looked at this thread in days and only came back since I saw the notification. Anyone who celebrates the death of children is an idiot that lacks moral clarity. That was easy.

EDIT: By the way, I think the reason takes like the one you reference don't get discussed extensively is because they are so ridiculous on their face that they aren't even worth consideration or a response. Of course, it's a morally bankrupt point of view... anyone with an ounce of intellect and conscience would agree to that regardless of political orientation. Contrast that to your posts, where I consider your views on the topic to be wrong on multiple levels but also recognize that they represent a significant portion (majority?) of progressives.

This article delves into the hospital bombing and trying to determine who's at fault. The most curious for me is the doctor stating they found bodies without their heads. My initial thought is, a bomb is going to blow more than a head off of a body, so are these victims of Hamas or does this doctor hold hatred for Israel and is willing to lie? Israel posting a video then taking it down without verifying doesn't help.

He corrects this original tweet as Al Jazeera actually claimed that the rocket that Gaza launched was obliterated (and thus couldn't have fallen in the hospital area) by an Iron-Dome intercepted rocket but instead a separate Israeli strike is what "destroyed" the hospital. His main claim is that it's not possible that an Iron-Dome rocket could intercept a Gaza rocket so quickly after launch.

Israel says it has made the first operational use of "Steel Sting" mortar bombs​

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Sunday it has made the first operational use of the "Steel Sting" mortar bomb in its ongoing fight with Hamas.
What is it: The Steel Sting is a mortar bomb (PGM) with dual guidance that enables precise hitting of targets in a built-up area while increasing the lethality of the hit and reducing the risk of hitting non-involved people, the IDF statement said.
More than 10 first and fatal bombs were fired in the territory surrounding Gaza and in the northern sector, the IDF statement added.
The IDF fighters used the bomb to attack a Hamas position "from which launches were made towards the territory of the State of Israel," the IDF statement said.
A video purporting to show the bomb in use was released by the IDF.
"We used it for the first time at the beginning of the war," a captain in the Magellan commando unit said, according to the IDF statement. "It allows us to neutralize threats with greater precision than other types of bombs. We don't shoot and hope to hit — we know we removed the threat."

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out raids “along the contact line” with Gaza overnight to “kill terrorist squads," a spokesperson said, as it ramps up its bombardment on the Palestinian enclave ahead of an anticipated ground assault.
“Armored and infantry raids were conducted during the night. These raids are raids that kill terrorist squads, preparing for our next phase of the war," Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said on Monday.
The "deep raids" were also to locate and search for people taken hostage during Hamas' large-scale attack on Israel on October 7, Hagari added, ahead of "the coming stages of the war."
Hamas militants killed 1,400 people in Israel during its incursion earlier this month and took hundreds of people hostage.
The IDF has since ramped up its military crackdown on Gaza while flooding the border with troops.
It has also launched raids on the occupied West Bank since the Hamas incursion, arresting hundreds of Palestinians said to include lawmakers, prominent figures, journalists, and former detainees who have served extended terms in Israeli jails.
Israeli forces launched a heavy bombardment on Gaza overnight, which killed dozens of Palestinians. At least 4,651 people have been killed inside the enclave by the continued bombardment, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. The figure does not include casualties from Sunday.
Hagari said on Monday the Israeli airstrikes in the last 24 hours struck "hundreds of terrorist targets" in Gaza, including the tunnel network used by Hamas.

Lots of people see everything in a binary oppressor vs oppressed lens. There is a complete lack of historical perspective and everyone jumps at the narrative fed to them by whichever sources they choose to follow. Shit it’s happened in this very thread. Sad to see people so easily manipulated

This would be the 14th attack on our bases in the region over the past few days.

I don't know why everyone is talking about ww3. I don't see that scenario at all here.

Having said that, Blinken looks like a scared, weak bureaucrat every time he speaks.

It's not that hard.

The Houthis that Biden prioritized removing from the terrorist list and the folks in Iran who are benefitting from the Biden admin.

We deter nobody with ineptitude in the White House and State Department.

Next step you get an attack from Iran either at the west or Israel. China recognizes we’ve overstretched ourselves and have a leadership void and moves on Taiwan.

This combined with uprising across Europe from the huge migrant population sympathetic with the Middle East causing unrest and requiring distractions at home for Europe.
Energy challengers at home.
Our military is overstretched.
We’re vulnerable and those who want to destroy us move on a scale we can’t defend and our shitty allies in NATO fail to support or defend off the ongoing Russia threat.

China has to love this condition we’re in. We’re led by idiots and our border is still open.
