A lot of people are predicting ND this week including the oddsmakers. Seems to be mostly based on USC’s shitty defense. There was similar sentiments last year. They were wrong.
We couldn’t establish the run last year and I’m thinking it’ll happen again this year.
But I have PTSD from Duke and L’ville.

I had to work a conference last Saturday. Everyone there was typical SEC fan. The ones from Ark were Hog fans. The ones for LA were LSU fans. And to a person they all agreed that seeing ND, OSU & scUM get beat are a nice cherry on top to their team or conference winning. One LSU fan said he roots for the Tigers & then the Hogs and always for the SEC. I politely tried to ask him to explain the logic in that and pointed out that OSU fans (for the most part) would never root for scUM & vice versa. Same goes for Bear/Packers or Yanks/BoSox or UT/OU. But SEC fans (for the most part) seem to have Stockholm Syndrome where they fall in love w/ Bama & UGA after those teams beat the shit out of their favorite team.

Went to the same high school as goolsby he's a few years older but met him when he came back after we won state

LOL. Good friend of mine is an Iowa transplant who is an ISU fan but it’s hard to get too into football when they’re more of a basketball school. So he’s been down in Arkansas long enough to where he’ll watch them w/ interest but when he talks to me about it he agrees the Hogs may have one of the worst fan bases in P5. Ignorant to anything outside SEC, quick to throw the current HC under the bus at first sign of struggle & takes solace by saying “well we are in the toughest conference in America”. They were lucky to get an invite into the SEC before it blew up b/c I guarantee their nothing but a coattail rider when it comes to football in the eyes of the other SEC teams’ fanbases.

When did Driskell and Shaun Davis join Jenny Craig? Good for them. Their postgame show hit 2000 viewers while all of the others combined were probably less than 1000. They've got a cult following like Fox News

Its funny when they win I have no need to watch youtube videos from the analysts. When they lose I get some value from it. Either in the form of amusement because they can't seem to grasp reality or on occasion their insights confirm what I was also seeing on the field.

But for whatever reason, I don't need the input after such a great win. It was a great win.

Were they uniquely bad last night or something? It even came up in Stewart Mandel’s column this morning. How bad they were.

They were their usual selves, i.e., absolutely awful, bland, milquetoast, worthless, pointless, at times alternating between cringe-worthy and sleep-inducing. They sucked like they've always sucked, which is to say ND deserves so much better.

If NBC is going to consider ND football a premium product, they need to act like it and use the best announcing crew.

Its frustrating - there is just certain things that need to be tightened up. Some additional investment in personnel and then later in facilities and we would have a Top 5 contender. They have the money. Just crazily lack the obvious commitment.

Read through some of the reddit comments from their game thread and it should be absolutely embarassing for everyone involved that during a big time game, 1/5 of comments were about how awful the audio quality and broadcast team were.

In the past I've never really cared because I'm more focused on the game but hearing Jac literally ruins my viewing experience.

You want a good example of how Jac sucks, listen to his commentary on Price's KO return for td.

He doesn't describe the action and doesn't sound excited as the exciting action is happening

"2 possession, game and here we go. This is Price bringing it out on a return..of his own! Now Jadarian Price, turnin on the jets, 20, 10, touchdown Notre Dame!"

What the fuck is that? He didn't say anything of substance until the run was almost over and there was no urgency at all while it was happening until Price crossed the goal line. He's terrible.




Contrast that with Tirico calling Kyren's huge ass rushing td vs UNC a couple years ago.

Night and day.

I would think as NBC invests more in college football and beefs up its Big Ten broadcasting that we will benefit, at least for the bigger games. They’ll have a deeper bench of guys who can do our games, and more production resources.
