Now that the season is over what is the next step for the Browns. I was happy with what they did for the OLine this year. Which in turn helped the Offence, but now I think it is time to think Defence and get some quality defensive players.

I've heard rumors that Parcelles (sp) whats Crannel and Anderson to be with him in Miami next year. I know Anderson is a restricted free-agent but I'm not really sure how that works, what do the Browns need to do so that they can maybe trade him or sign him for another year.

Just what to know what everyone thinks.

Haha, sure, if the Tuna wants Anderson trade him. I doubt the Tuna would be willing to give up that #1 pick for him, but I'm sure something could be packaged together to benefit both teams. It would be nice though to see the Brownies get back into the first round, so they may have to look elsewhere. But with Anderson having a great year and being pretty much the poster boy of the Browns emergence he should be highly coveted.

The Browns have to address the defense this offseason. McGinnest is like 100 years old and the LB core could use some strengthening up.

To be honest, the Browns looked damn good this year and with that O-Line getting stronger especially considering how well Thomas played this year, and Braylon having a breakout year, the Brown offense should be firing on all cylinders next year. Put Quinn back there to run the show, add a little strenght to that defense and the Browns for sure will be playoff bound in '08.

Good to see Brady play again....and play well too. If only the celebrity receivers would have caught the touchdown passes....

Newc I don't know about Anderson being the poster boy for the Browns. Alot of the talk was that Edwards ,Winslow, and the rest of the recieving core was making him look good by making great plays. Yesterday after brady camr out he got a standing ovation, and when Anderson returned to start the 2nd half the fans were booing him. I do agree that Savage will try and work a trade for Anderson, don't think they get a 1st Rd pick for him. The interesting part is going to be Romeo Crennell and what he decides to do.

Well Parcells is already at work in Miami. Espn is reporting that he fired GM Randy Mueller this morning and will meet with HC Cam Cameron tommorow. Things could get interesting very fast concerning Romeo and the Dolphins.

Defense will be the area to address... anyone wanting Anderson for a decent (and young) Defensive linemen will be appreciated... then the draft and freee agency should hold the defensive backfield in the upmost importance IMO... also, even though the O line did well this year, you can NEVER have enough quality linemen... espec. with Cleveland's injury bug...

although the obvious answer to the question of where the browns go next year is....

"Super Bowl"

All the teams get tickets to the super bowl ACamp, but only two get to play. So are the browns playing or sitting next to my lions?

The browns will continue their great run of twenty straight super bowl victories next year.........

Hypothetically speaking:

1. Trevor Laws makes a ton of sense to Cleveland in the 2nd round.

2. An Early 2nd and probably a 3rd will be comming from Miami WHEN Anderson gets traded there. ( which I am going on record in predicting right now)

3. Browns need
A. Young RB
B. A good young #2 Reciever
C. 3-4 D-Line Help
D. fast athletic LB's

It is a good time to be a Browns fan. I see them as San Diego of 3 years ago. Except they have a Legit #1 WR instead of a RB

Brees was/is a good QB. Rivers like Quinn was a highly touted prospect. The parallels are there. All humor aside.

I agree I also would predict that this will happen but I am wondering what rounds the picks will be in. 2nd and 3rd are the most logical. I don't think Miami will give up the first round for him but I would love to see that happen.

1. Trevor Laws makes a ton of sense to Cleveland in the 2nd round.

again I agree 100%

I believe that the biggest issue that has to be addressed is the DLine. I would love to see the first two picks go for D linemen

If im the Browns I draft a big time WR. Besides Edwards, who else do they have at WR. I draft Manningham if im them.(or the best WR they can get)

With Parcells on board, I just don't see Anderson heading to Miami. I think he will be stockpiling picks, not giving them up. It's more ikely that he will choose a veteran QB at a cheaper price to groom either Beck or another draft choice. With the year he had, Anderson (and the Browns) will demand more for him than he's worth.

Being a Dolphins fan, I will cry more if we aqcuire Anderson than I did when we passed up BQ. Well, maybe not. BQ would have been a great pick for the Phins.

parcells seems like a slam dunk to aquire a proven vet QB. I just don't see him going into next year with an unproven QB. Anderson is far and away the best available guy. I can in no way envison Parcells delving into a development situation. This is who they get, in order of probability:

1. Derek Anderson
2. Jake Plummer
3. Donovan McNabb

I can't think of anyone else who would be available.

Agreed on everything but the LB's... My thought is they have fast young LB's... least more so than they have top line D Backs... K Wim, Davis and Jackson are a good core... I like our young safties (somewhat) but the Corners could use some work...

TOTALLY agree with RB... Jamal came up huge this year but at some point you have to look for youth, expec. at the RB position as we all know... I'd say a top line WR to help with B Ed and Winslow would help and 3-4 d line help would be top priority as well... we need YOUTH there... nailed it

nice post

IF we start him. I think DA may be a bit of a fluke and then BQ will take over but who knows. I just hope we don't trade Quinn away before we see what he can really do.

Me too. I'm not happy we don't have any picks in the first 3 rounds, but I like Quinn-1st,
Williams-2nd and Rogers-3rd. Hope it works out.

I agree. I'm not too thrilled about not having any pick the first three round but I believe we Savage will somehow get some early picks this year, via trades on draft day. I would not be suprised is e trade Anderson. I heard that we actually got an offer from someone that would give us a late 1st and 3rd rounder for him, then that team was going to trade him way to move higher up the draft board. I was told that the steelers we involved some how. I'm sorry I can't remember how but I know they were.

So I've been wondering if the browns front office is going to pull a sign and trade with him. But if it doesn't happen I will be happy keeping him and letting Brady learn more about the game at the NFL level.

As for the Quinn-1st, Williams-2nd and Rogers-3rd idea I am fine with that as long as the two DL's workout.

I'd be fine with trading DA away, try and get as much value as you can for him coming of a (flukey) career year.

I think it was a fluke year for DA. With all the weapons that the Browns have on offence any average QB sould be able to thrive. I believe that Brady could be a above average QB, and can't wait to see what he can do with the browns offence.
