38-20 Irish. ND takes the ball and scores on a 10 play scoring drive. JJB starts the game with a strip sack and the next drive is followed up with a Morrison interception. The game is 21-0 before OSU even gets anything going.

I’ll be damned if I pick even a close game against these clowns

38-31 Notre Dame. I think this is going to be a back and forth game. I think Notre Dame could trail for stretches of this game. However, I think this offense just keeps coming at them. There will be multiple 2-3 minute stretches of offense that keep this game competitive. Hartman wins out with one of those being in the 4th Quarter. ND's defense does just enough to hold McCord and their offense in check when it counts.

I think there are two major factors that are going to help ND in this one.

1) Strength vs. strength: OSU WRs against ND's CBs. The fact that ND has one of the best CB tandems in the country should be enough to keep Harrison Jr. and Egbuka from running wild in our secondary. They can't just turn it loose against ND's secondary like they can majority of their schedule. I truly believe OSU will have to establish a solid running game and maintain it in order to have regular succeess against our D. They'll score, but I don't think they get over 25 points.

2) The most important aspect of this game: QB Experience. McCord has never started in a game of this magnitude nor played any meaningful snaps in a hostile road environment. Those of you who have been to a night game in ND stadium know that the crowd energy under the lights is flat out different. Hartman already called on the students and fans to get there early and get "rowdyyyy." The fans will heed his advice, smashing beer after beer and bring the noise Saturday.

If they get after McCord early, he'll be rattled. I predict he throws two INTs, one a pick 6.

One thing I don't think enough people are talking about: the emergence of Chris Tyree. He has been steadier than anyone could've imagined given his position switch. He gives us not one (Merriweather) but two WRs who can take the top off of a defense, and he's shown he's got reliable hands.

With him and Merriweather scoring long TDs last week, I think that gives OSU more to worry about and they can't key on Staes or Thomas in the intermediate passing game to rely on shutting down our ariel attack.

I also wholeheartedly believe that Parker and Golden have some things up their sleeve for this one. Our game plans were way too vanilla last week, especially considering it was a one score game in the 2nd half.

ND 34, OSU 24

Even though it won't be good for my blood pressure, I kinda want chaos. One of those games where college football fans across the country have to stop they are doing and tune in, Twitter blows up with ND vs OSU content, the national college football podcasts have to spend most of their time on Monday talking about this game. I want all the eyeballs to be on South Bend, IN as ND wins a game in OT as the stadium is showing off in all it's glory.

31-20 Irish. OSU has been spoiled by offenses that can score at will. No longer. Irish defense hold in the red zone multiple times, putting the Golden red zone narrative to bed completely. Buckeye defense is the best we play all regular season, but lacks serious size & consistency on the defensive line and doesn't seriously disable either facet of the Irish's offense. Eichenberg and Simon call their brothers to complain about Estime following the game, while Steele Chambers gets complaints from nearly all of the offensive players about his HS teammate JD Bertrand. The Irish play incredibly physical, but also show superior team speed at all three levels of their defense and comparable speed on their offense.

think the OSU QB plays the disrespect card with B Morrison because of Marvin Harrison jr and throws to that side way too much and has two interceptions ran back for scores in a 45-24 irish victory.

McCord 38 Hartman 28
1. Ohio State has the best receivers in the country and McCord, while inexperienced, is becoming elite.
2. ND's defensive backs are good but the pass rush is mediocre. Nobody can stop their receivers if the Qb is given enough time.
3. Ohio State's Dline in pretty good and will eventually win the line of scrimmage unless Fisher, Spindler and Coogan play much better than they have lately.
4. Ohio State has some pretty good defensive backs and it's hard to see ND's receivers get separation, unless Colzie and or Merriweather play the game of their lives
5. The coaching staffs: Experience and excellent play calling vs inexperience but with potential.
6. In general, the talent level is much higher for Ohio State.

FFS, I’m not sure where to go with this one. I truly believe we were a QB away from a win last year. At the very least a more competitive final score. Nothing they do screams elite. Sure they have talent but collectively, team along with coaching, there’s nothing scary. Couple that with a young QB, there’s a freight train coming Saturday night, and our boys are ready. I’m not sure they’d beat NC State.

I can see us winning by a 65 yard field goal on the last drive. Something like 30-27, but I’m all in on it, ND smashes tOSU, 38-6, or no wait, 42-7, yep that’s it!

Very realistic. Hopeful for an Irish victory but like you say, OSU has recruited at a higher level than ND.
