I disagree. BK never had to deal with NIL, we would have had at least three of DM, Keeley, PB, Mpenba, and Carnell Tate if it wasn't for upfront payments. The strategy changed alot because of NIL. You really can't compare the eras
What evidence of BK signing those types of recruits?

Which national recruit did he sign that went the distance who didn't commit early? Caleb Kelly? Demetris Roberston? Lathan Ransom?

schools were paying players before NIL man, nothing really changed there

I have a feeling Independent was not saying BK would have signed the 2023 dudes but MF would have (sans NIL). That’s how I read it anyway 😊

BK never landed any of those types of recruits at ND lmfao what are you talking about? Also, PB followed his HS QB, Tate was an OSU lock the moment the Buckeyes offered, and M'Pemba is a defensive player who went to the back to back national champion Georgia Bulldogs, known for their elite defense. Keeley is the only guy in that group that might've wound up at ND before NIL.

M'Pemba might've as well. He apparently was close to committing to ND a few times and then basically dropped us late in the summer and focused on NIL schools - Miami, Tennessee, Georgia, etc.

Because every thread, at some point, devolves to its natural state of debating at least one of the holy trinity of BK, Tommy and Driskell. Sorry, I don't make the rules.
Well Driskell is still around. The others found what they think are better opportunities elsewhere. Not sure that will happen with Dew Man.

Big fan. Feels like we’d be getting the guy Buchner was supposed to be. Football family. I also like that it’s a differing skillset
Sounds great I still think we need a portal guy for next season but after that, it could be a pretty stable QB room

his game against week 1 game rancho cucamunga looked rough, 2 ints in a loss. Ceiling is definitely a top college QB but like Buchner he’s going to need to sit for a year or 2.

If you’re going to take a kid like this, the year after CJ Carr is the time to do it.

After watching this game, You cannot watch and be impressed. Really struggled.

Everyone comparing him to TB, Do me a favor and rewatch Buchner's Junior year film. It is some of the best you'll ever see. This kid doesn't have that type of film. Sorry.

Hope they’re talking up getting a 2025 QB on board soon just as pressure on Duece to commit. I don’t think Bear is it.

Agreed. Deuce is by no means a finished product, but I'd rather take a chance on him.

So now we don't want Bear or Dueces? Is that correct? We have no shot at McIntyre?

So this will be an Angeli / Minchey type year in terms of QB recruiting??

With CJ, Angeli and KM in the fold, I think this is the time you do shoot for an athlete or guy who may take some maturing. You (hopefully) don't need him to play right away. I have only watched his soph film 1X, and looked good. Is he the guy? IDK

It is tough to imagine ND, Bama, Oregon, Miami, Michigan, and A&M could all be wrong on the kid...but it would be nice to see a full junior year of film before he commits.

Singer is saying that ND can ultimately wrap this up next weekend. Bachmeier loves ND.

An imminent commitment isn’t likely but he doesn’t see things playing out much more past the visit.
So a commitment isnt likely... but it'll be wrapped up this weekend? How does that work? It didnt make sense when Loy said it... and still doesnt make sense now that Singer is repeating it.

Unless he is going to commit silently, which isnt actually a commitment (See Lambert, Guerby)
