At this point pass on him… I like Deuce and his potential a lot, but this is a critical development year and he’s missing it. No thanks.

Loy said, essentially, that ND was expecting him to transfer and that they aren't concerned by it. Also says he thinks we know one way or another who our 25 QB is by next weekend. Latest on Class of 2025 QB Recruiting for Notre Dame
By next weekend?
I dunno, man. I like Deuce's upside but if it's him, there's some yellow lights on the dashboard. And if it's not, who exactly would it be?

Bear Bachmeier has a visit scheduled for next weekend. Loy was pretty adamant that ND has known that the transfer was coming and doesn't see it as a red flag, FWIW.

I mean ole miss location on google maps is over 4 hours away.
Not sure how staff would not be concerned by this.

Yep. If Nashville is too far from home for this kid, well, South Bend is twice as far.

(LSU, Bama and Auburn are all within three hours though.)

Mississippi Kid, 6'4", multiple HS transfers, following CJ carr.

Marking myself "safe' from being emotionally checked in on this one in any way.

To be fair he really just transferred to Lipscomb and then went back home.
But yes public school kid from a small town in Mississippi is not a recruiting battle that often win in the end. Though Jarious Jackson was a pretty good football player.

Taking a risk on a high upside QB is less of an issue in the portal era. ND, especially after Hartman’s success, is always going to be able to find an “average” QB if they need it.

If they think Deuce has elite upside, it’s worth the risk.

Wouldn’t you want to take an official visit to ND next week? Even if I didn’t have ND in my top 5 as a recruit I’d reach out to see if I could come for a visit. It’s going to be a great game.

In a way, transferring high schools could be viewed as a good thing.

Whatever his reasons, he has been through it once before now. Gotta think that would give him a bit more perspective for the next go around.

True. Though, from our perspective, he quickly bailed on the place that is more like Notre Dame (a private school in Nashville away from home) and went back to the place that is more like Auburn/Ole Miss (his hometown Deep South public school).
