The B1G is truly the national conference now. They will go for two more. North Caroina and Virginia to dominate the mid Atlantic with Maryland or invade the south with FSU and Clemson.
It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. I still believe this is shortsighted and that the end game will be that we won't have the NCAA (at least any presence over college football) and conferences.
I believe it'll eventually be a 50, 60 team "league", comprised of the best schools (no Wake Forest, Syracuse, Temple, Indiana, Rutgers, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Houston, Colorado State, and so forth), free of conferences, with its 12-game Playoff.
College football has survived (and thrived) on tradition and regionality. It's a different game now. While you may not like it initially, I believe the aforementioned will work. Viewership won't decline with weekly matchups filled with the likes of Michigan @ Auburn, Texas @ Notre Dame, Penn State @ Florida, LSU @ USC, Ohio State @ Georgia, Texas A&M @ Wisconsin, Tennessee @ Oregon, Oklahoma @ Washington week after week.
