It used to be that ND had so many leaks that I knew every single "silent" within like 48 hours of it being given. And so did every guy on the beat, so if ND was actually "in the dark" that meant with near 100% certainty that the player had not pledged to ND behind the scenes.

With Freeman tightening things up, it's impossible to actually judge what is manufactured drama and what isn't. And over the last two seasons it seems like almost every time they're like "ooooo ND is neck and neck for this player! who will it be?!?" ... it has not ended well for the guys in blue and gold.

I always wondered what the upside was to the staff leaking things to the beat guys.
