Though he isn't 6'3 like Cannion, they did want to use that last WR spot on someone with great athletic traits and they like Saldate's. Good track times that might just get better come senior year.

ND had a list of around 20 players they were looking at, narrowed down to 8 & had them send in tape, workout videos, test numbers, etc… & the staff fell in love with Saldate.

A few other west coast programs were pushing hard for him & ND was worried more schools out East would start pushing so they jumped in him before he blows up.

IB graded him a 4 Star, top 250 player.
Driskell said at first he wasn’t as high, but after reviewing his latest film & testing numbers he changed his mind.
Said he was a lot faster & athletic than he thought, & has really good ball control.

I haven’t reviewed his film myself.

So it sounds like the kid is going to put out a decommitment statement, then a commitment statement soon.

Driskell’s the guy who would schedule announcement live shows before the kids made their decision, but only specifically for kids who ended up picking Notre Dame.

One other coach, I’m assuming Parker, had to initially be convinced, but quickly was when he saw the tape.

ngl I rolled my eyes when I saw his name pop up on IE due to his ranking, but after watching his tape and seeing his testing numbers I’m a fan. V good ball skills for a guy with his athleticism. Hope they don’t shut down WR recruiting but I like the take, compliments Cam and Gilbert well. Fringe 4 star to me.
