Doesn't this stuff happen during fraternity rushes all of the time?

Not any more since the attorneys showed up. All the fun is gone- college fun is gone.
Fraternity guy, here.

Yeah, all the naked ass and cock play is surely missed from Rush.

Glad that my fraternity—while still some rights of passage prior to initiation—didn’t engage in any of this bullshit.

Now things involving small farm livestock…I can neither confirm or deny…

Darren Rovell staking himself to Fitz being innocent and this being contrived.

Greeny has been radio silent on this issue, so far. I’m ready for him to make a statement.

Not a chance in hell I would’ve done that naked center thing.

The Irish Catholic Chicago south suburbs guy who knew how to recruit around tough academic standards checked a lot of boxes for ND fans. He has never been a fit for so many others and now with this coming to light I think that theory has been proven correct.

This is a very good lesson for young head coaches around the country. You have to be aware of what is happening within your program. Keep your plausible deniability to a minimum.

Chicago is not a college sports town, but Northwestern is right up the Lake and Big Ten HQ is right here. This story is going to occupy some time today since it broke last week and again over the weekend. It's got eyes all over it.

Fitz would've landed Justin Scott for sure.

I dunno. Given the immense number of staffers these programs employ these days I find it very hard to believe the head coach isn't aware of what's going on in his own locker room. And if not, it's because he doesn't want to.

Same. My fraternity was strictly anti-hazing, I was actually VP and on the disciplinary council when we removed a guy for doing something that could have been construed as hazing. I never understood the value of hazing and don't think it's ever worth it.

Exactly.

The more details that emerge, the more it sounds like he knew and encouraged in this instance.

Was never in a frat, but up here my hockey teams followed ABN (anything but needles) and no pants off. Alcohol poisoning was the norm but we never had the urge to hump each other. Knew of some teams that did some pants off stuff, but it would get corrected pretty quickly after chirping them on the ice.

These things tend to get interesting because people will start coming out of nowhere. Just trying to get part of some settlement.

Well hey look, the Northwestern scandal managed to somehow GET WORSE. Some pretty awful allegations of racism here.

This is all the making of Pat Fitzgerald. He made the mess himself. Plain and simple.

Every head coach everywhere needs to self audit immediately if they have not already, especially any guys newer to the job. You cannot have this kind of stuff in your program. Now or ever.
