Annie Murphy thread?
So we didn’t give him the same treatment as Mencke?Still going to visit UNC, but had a good visit.

Did Ziglar want to commit but still take OVs? Or just continue taking OVs before he commits? So we didn’t give him the same treatment as Mencke?
If Mencke would’ve done it this way, we’d probably still be in on him.Did Ziglar want to commit but still take OVs? Or just continue taking OVs before he commits?
There are still some concerns about him at the safety position from what I’m told, but they love the 6-2, 200-pounder athletically and as a fit in South Bend. They are currently deciding right now if they are going to push and try and get this one done.
Even if they push, they have to convince him to leave home. If ND doesn’t close the door, he visits UNC next week & I think he stays home.![]()
Safety recruiting

Someone (ISD?) said they were told by a source that Safety recruiting has been a shit show.Yep. I’m just confused what the purpose of the OV was if they aren’t even sure he’s a safety
People will pile on O’Leary, but the things happening with Safety recruiting last year & this year have been more Freeman/Bowden things.Yep. I’m just confused what the purpose of the OV was if they aren’t even sure he’s a safety
Greg & Christian said they were told that last week.Someone (ISD?) said they were told by a source that Safety recruiting has been a shit show.
I hope the staff's evaluations are correct. Otherwise they'll need to over recruit at Safety which will take scholarship spots away from other positions.Seems the plan, front what I can piece together, is Tae, Urlacher, Bennie-Powell & push for Andrews as the 4th. And try to flip Beasley.
Ziglar is so much better than Bennie-Powell in my opinion. Whatever.
Agree… don’t see it at all with Powell at safetySeems the plan, front what I can piece together, is Tae, Urlacher, Bennie-Powell & push for Andrews as the 4th. And try to flip Beasley.

Yeah, I don’t get it. Ziglar seems more of a safety to me than Urlacher, Bennie-Powell, Minke, or Miles.Seems the plan, front what I can piece together, is Tae, Urlacher, Bennie-Powell & push for Andrews as the 4th. And try to flip Beasley.

I can say the same thing about Urlacher. This safety class is widening the position talent gap between Notre Dame and its competition.Agree… don’t see it at all with Powell at safety
It's doubtful that Ziglar will end up in this class, so unless Powell is a difference maker or has a lot of upside I wouldn't take him. I'd much rather just bring in another 1 year grad transfer for depth. The staff might not like that, but they should have done a better job recruiting. We can't afford for them to have a bunch of misses at Safety to the point where they have to over recruit at the position and have 9-10 Safeties on scholarship because of blown evaluations.I can say the same thing about Urlacher. This safety class is widening the position talent gap between Notre Dame and its competition.
That's about Cam Hart's listed size but Hart is, what, 22 years old?So, a noteworthy correction to the above.
Apparently, it's not a LB or hybrid defender they see out of the 6'2 1/2 200 lb HS Junior. It's Cornerback. He's actually larger than JOK was at a similar age but he could play CB?

I don't know about everyone else but that makes it even more confusing. If you truly believe a young man, that big, is athletic enough to play CB, I would hope you take him every single time he's available, lol.
But, per Loy, they are unsure if they are going to push for him because he's not a S.
If Loy is correct, then they might have wasted a OV that could’ve gone to a pure Safety. So, a noteworthy correction to the above.
