Rumors that A&M will get home games with UGA and Texas. Add in their game against ND and that is a terrific home slate.
Yeah, I've heard that so far Texas has Michigan, Georgia, and is @ Texas A&M, and @ Arkansas. I presume they'll have Oklahoma, too?

I don’t understand how Texas A&M has been in the SEC since 2012 and played Georgia once.
When you play an 8 game conference schedule, that’s just the way it works out, unfortunately.

Two divisions comprised of 7 teams. So, Georgia plays the other 6 eastern teams.

Then, every team played its annual crossover rivalry. For Georgia, it’s the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry” — i.e., Georgia vs. Auburn.

That leaves one other Western opponent / rotational.

This is why I liked the pod model with four 4-team pods where you played every other team in the conference at least once every 3 years.

Honestly, that’s what I thought they’d do.

These schedules are just for the 2024 season only, but holy shit there is a plethora of incredible games to be played.

The SEC will eventually gravitate to a nine game conference schedule. That’s inevitable. ESPN (Disney) didn’t want to pony up, and the SEC will use this as leverage and shop around for a new deal.

Nevertheless, you’ll have great, marquee games week after week. I just hate that the LSU-Auburn game is off the schedule. Also, not that it’s traditionally deemed as a “big game”, but not having LSU-Mississippi State will be odd as well. The two have played approximately 115 times.

ETA: It’s awesome they’re bringing back Texas-Texas A&M, though. That’s a great thing for college football.

Since joining the SEC, Texas A&M has played Florida (one of which was during 2020) and Missouri 4 times (did Missouri start in the west?), Vanderbilt and Tennessee three times if you count this year. The scheduling is stupid.

They've attempted to make changes to the scheduling in the past; however, certain schools (namely Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, and Ole Miss) wouldn't budge.

Alabama and Tennessee are adamant on keeping the "Third Saturday in October" game;
Georgia and Auburn are adamant on keeping the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry";
Ole Miss has a softball game with Vanderbilt, and didn't want to give up that (typically) sure W.

This is such a non punishment in the end. Nobody cares.
I find it completely punishing that we moved below Michigan again on the All Time Winningest Program list after we vacated those wins from a decade ago. It's a bunch of bullshit that should have never happened. In what world does Penn State get their wins back over a pedophile cover up and we lose ours for self reporting a few players having papers written for them?

Sadly, the one we happen to be living in.

Les is now ineligible for the college football hall of fame since his winning percentage has fallen below .600

Jeremy Pruitt will find his way back to college football. It'll happen. He might be in NFL exile a bit longer, but Frazee and Durkin have made comebacks. Kendall Briles and Jeff Lebby knew what was going down at Baylor but they're both ok. This is how the game works.
