What’s up with the Lambert kid?
He’s the other true OT that ND had a good shot with, right?
Take these two at OT and be done for the class?

Those were my thoughts/questions too. Would be great to know how the staff views these tackles in order of importance. Id pay to see that board. Has the beat unearthed any insight on this?

I’m confident that Lambert will be in the class. I‘m from MA and I’m familiar with his HS program and based on everything I’ve heard about Lambert, I’d be absolutely stunned if he didn’t wind up at ND. He’s from an Academics-first household and it is my belief that academics will be the main factor in his decision. He attended a prestigious Catholic middle school that didn’t offer football and he didn’t even play football as a freshman. His ceiling is extremely high.

I know the reporters have said that ND is taking 3 OL...I say take 4 still. IT ALWAYS WORKS OUT

What is the situation here? His primaries were Hiestand and Mason. Both now gone.

Any updates?

Thought one of the services had an update recently. On3, maybe? But I am not a member there anymore

They need actual tackle prospects so bad in this class. Prescod is an interesting one - is that Alabama offer a *real* real one?

Kid has offers from the OL elite; ND, UM, Wisky, Iowa & Bama…yet barely a 3 Star on Rivals (5.5)
Kid is super athletic & was one of the few offers HH gave out in the ‘24 class.
Get him, then go all out for Lambert, a s that’s a great 4 man class.

I'm 99% sure he visited them not too long ago and posted pictures with Saban but I can't find a link to it at the moment. Pretty sure it's legit. Whether he's a take, who knows, but there was at least serious interest on their end.

He's a great upside OT prospect. Since i'm convinced they're not actually only going to take 3 OL this cycle I love adding Prescod now and see what happens with Lambert.

Hypothetically if Prescod commits, do you say no to one of Brix or Lambert? I don't think you can.

only a village idiot says no to Lambert in my opinion but i'm not the biggest recruiting expert though

Well of course I'm not personally saying no to Lambert, but we were told they were taking 3 OR 4 depending on if/when Lambert committed. If both Lambert and Brix wanted in I'm personally not saying no, but I also wouldn't have taken Knapp when they did.

I bet it is 3 including Lambert. Or 3 + Lambert. Lambert can come in May or February. Whateverrrrr he wants

No, I wouldn't. But, some it depends on how things play out with the class as a whole.

At this moment, I think you recruit to 4 and the 5th becomes BPA. Then at that point, those two are likely fairly high up on the BPA list.

You definitely take Lambert. Knapp isn’t a tackle, despite what they seem to think, and they desperately need tackles.

I’m not going to argue and he gets some grace with this first class. But, if they stop at 3, he gets impeached. And if they were to turn down one of Brix or Lambert, he gets tried for treason. Seems fair, lol.

Of course each situation is different, and context is not always the same, but it's the same principle of "not saying no" to a top of the board player, regardless of the current commit situation. This should be Rudolph's thinking, and I'm sure it will be.

Be comfortable taking your base numbers, but don't pass up a Top 50 guy that wants to join in on the fun.

From what I’ve heard they are taking Lambert no matter what.
If he is next to commit they could stop at 3 if there is not a 4th they really want.
If Prescod or a Heywood would commit next, they will still push for Lambert.
But I don’t think they would take a Prescod and Heywood if they both wanted if Lambert was still out there.
It’s a really, really weak OL class nationally, so Jones, Knapp & Lambert would be really good. Jones, Knapp, Lambert & Prescod would be great (in such a weak year).

should we be expecting him to pop, assuming we will be pushing for it.
I would say yes.
He was going to at the BG game but wanted to take a few other visits, so the staff told him to wait.
He took those visits, now he is back. So I’m guessing the staff will take it with Brix probably not happening. (Always room for Lambert).

I felt it was generally accepted that ND was holding on Prescod until they got Lambert and Brix to campus which is why Prescod held off on committing and took those visits. Now that ND has “passed” on Brix, this feels like a formality. When not if. I’ll bet that when is soon.
