I mean, he could have stayed at ND instead of chasing a paycheck...no sympathy.

I could see them winning at least 2/3 of their last games. I could see them being a top 25 team at the end of the season.

I'm impressed with what Elko has done. Good on him.

He's done an exceptional job. He took over a program that had won 1 of 17 conference games in the last two seasons. Only 5 games total. They won 8 games overall and 5 in conference this season.

That was my first thought—that he would be an absolutely great fit there. Makes more sense to me than Greg Roman.

My bad, got my former DCs confused, Lea’s at Vandy. In that case I thought Elko had a solid season for Duke and he wouldn’t be on a hot seat either.

Yep. If Elko wins 9 (or somewhere in that area) at Duke, a bigger school is going to scoop him up pretty quickly.

He’s a fantastic coach. He’s ultimately the perfect balance of very good X’s and O’s and dedicated recruiter.

Some bigger school is going to get a really good long term guy in Elko.

I could see that. He's also the type of guy that I think would crush it at a school like University of Washington or Wisconsin. Places that have a lot of funding but usually need to focus on recruiting the second tier of prospects and developing.
