Joe Alt was a 3 star…That’s exactly how ND DOES NOT win a championship… do what we’ve done the last 30 years
Need to recruit and land more highly ranked players, that’s why freeman is the coach.

I don’t have the energy to do this one again…Joe Alt was a 3 star…
Okay, let’s go with Tyler Eifert, Will Fuller Chris Claypool? They were also 3 star recruits.I don’t have the energy to do this one again…
You had me at ANAL.WADR (with all due respect) (yep that’s mine), Freeman is not Kelly. Until he proves otherwise, you follow the lead. Let’s look forward to what this season brings, and stop over-ANAL-izing every supposed questionable recruit. We live in the days of the portal LION (like it or not). They make it or we find a replacement.
P.S. please don’t move my post, 😂
Buddy you don’t want me to list all the 3-star recruits who didn’t work out. Because there’s a lot more of them than the ones that did. That’s why they’re 3-star recruits - most of them are just dudes on the roster, or the teams that Notre Dame can’t beat would recruit them over 4 and 5-star recruits.Okay, let’s go with Tyler Eifert, Will Fuller Chris Claypool? Energy?
The percentages of 5 stars that pan out>3 stars. The number of 3 stars that pan out>5 starsOkay, let’s go with Tyler Eifert, Will Fuller Chris Claypool? They were also 3 star recruits.

WADR ( sorry WW),🤣same can be said about 4 and 5 star recruitsBuddy you don’t want me to list all the 3-star recruits who didn’t work out. Because there’s a lot more of them than the ones that did. That’s why they’re 3-star recruits.
This isn’t the air-tight argument you think it is.
Guy, there’s a lot of 3 star recruits that didn’t work out at bama, Ohio state, Georgia etc that didn’t work out and plenty who did. What’s your point? Notre Dame’s failure against said schools was not about the stars recruiting services gave them. Those teams were fundamentally out coached primarily with horrible qb play. Stetson Bennet was a walk-on anddddddd... (Doesn’t count because he went to Georgia?)Buddy you don’t want me to list all the 3-star recruits who didn’t work out. Clarence Lewis was a 3 star…. I got way more examples than you doJoe Alt was a 3 star…
Jordan Johnson was a 5 star.Clarence Lewis was a 3 star…. I got way more examples than you do
If the goal is to win a championship, freeman and staff are not recruiting good enough plain and simple.
Aaron lynch was a 5 star. There are othersClarence Lewis was a 3 star…. I got way more examples than you do

Our first 30 options had these characteristics except they dominate high school vs made a few splash plays for film. The saying is "film don't lie". This is a guy who is long, rangy and athletic and it translates to the film. That is the key here.
I don't know if he's a legit sub 4.5, but he looks plenty fast and athletic.
People shouldn't act so surprised. This guy fits the profile of what Freeman has been going after for defense to a T. Versatile, athletic, long players, particularly for the front 7.
Aaron lynch was really goodAaron lynch was a 5 star. There are others

Not really. He was solid, that’s about itAaron lynch was really good

Freeman isn't offering a guy off of "a few splash plays".Our first 30 options had these characteristics except they dominate high school vs made a few splash plays for film.
We're not losing out on top recruits and shopping for three stars because we won nine games instead of 10 last year. Our rankings and record were comparable to LSU and Oregon, better than Texas and Miami, all of whom finished with better classes than us. But they offer something that we don't.
Lewis still plays for us (and has since his freshman year when we made the playoff) so he was worth his scholarship. He’s been better than some higher ranked guys at his position in the same time frame (KJ Wallace and Isaiah Rutherford were 4stars in the previous class but were behind Lewis from pretty much the moment he stepped on campus)Freeman isn't offering a guy off of "a few splash plays".
Your example of Clarence Lewis was also pretty bad, considering Lewis wasn't a plus athlete at corner. This guys is very clearly a plus athlete at LB.
What kind of talent did Georgia surround Stetson Bennett with? Was it local guys they beat Georgia State for, or guys they beat Alabama on?Guy, there’s a lot of 3 star recruits that didn’t work out at bama, Ohio state, Georgia etc that didn’t work out and plenty who did. If he becomes a star at ND, I bet you’d forget he was a 3 star…
But did you know J.J. Watt was a 2-star?!I honestly don’t know how people can follow college football closely and not think recruiting rankings matter. You need elite talent to win big and 5* players hit at a higher rate than any other group. Pretty simple. Go look back at ND’s 5 stars the last 20 years and it will be no different.

Offer lists > Rankings, for sure. And maybe we’re ahead of the game on offering this guy. We have been before. We shall see. Since it sure seems like he’ll be on our football team in a little bit.You also need to be able to scout.
Recruiting rankings matter, but they're also VERY flawed, and players consistently fall through the cracks because of how limited the resources these services have compared to the sheer number of players needed to scout per class.
Freeman isn't offering Rezac because time is running out and he's out of options. They scouted and eval'd him and determined he was worth the offer. The tape seems to back that conclusion up very thoroughly.
Also, May just started. Guys like Rezac go undetected and then the services catch wind of him and follow up with a grade that blows them up. As somebody mentioned, Hillman was very much that last year.

Maybe Loy forgot to ask this kid if he’s a PWO offer.
Seriously, that offer list is not impressive. Nebraska kid not offered by Nebraska? Concerning
