“Bombshell”

This is a coordinated attack to de-legitimize the one institution that isn’t pushing Biden’s insanity. This is about power and perception to let them ignore the courts. This is only a bombshell to those ideologically aligned with Keith Olbermann or people who get news on TikTok.
Are you and BobbyOK the same person?

soooo......
So? lol. This is no different than firms that already have someone on staff who has already argued in front of the SC. Are they not supposed to use that attorney because they have expertise in a particular area and have argued in front of the SC before? You seriously think a SC judge is going to rule in favor of an attorney because they were placed at a firm by Roberts wife?

I expect the most out of the final arbiters of justice in this country who prides itself on democracy and equal treatment under the law. The fact there are no guardrails for the highest court in the land is problematic (regardless of their leanings).
Damn it RBG.

I'll gladly play this game.

Holmes Interview. Skip to about minute thirteen. Such an easy distinction and an easy hill to fight on.

See Graham during Kavanaugh's hearings. Graham on SCOTUS Republicans are infinitely more kind to libs than vice versa.. Your people suck at this. They take rules for granted, break them when they convenient (Reid on judges) and complain when rules don't work in their favor.

The democratic party is the ultimate example of "Bitch Made" energy. Inherently soft people willing to play stupid games only to win stupid prizes. McConnell is far from perfect but he was right to tell Barry to go fuck himself if he thought he was going to appoint someone he didn't approve of.

I cant imagine being upset that the senate majority leader gave the American people an opportunity to determine which party decides who gets to choose the open SCOTUS seat when you have divided government.

Susan Collins points to....(lol) Biden himself on this subject. If you lose Collins....
I am still waiting for precedent on not giving Garland a hearing....

There is zero obligation to give people hearings. There is your precedent. That was easy lol.

You can't join the Court without confirmation. Not my fault that (objectively!) broken man couldn't get q hearing. You want Barack's boy to get nominated even though he pulls a Roger Stone and watches his wife get fucked by other men?

That's not what McConnell said though. He made up a reason, before there was a nominee, to not give a hearing and then ignored that same reasoning at the very next time the situation was similar.

The "give the american people a say" reasoning is total bullshit. It was a pure political power move proven as such 4 years later.

Lol....wtf is this.

So the President should just counter with recess appointments then? Just keep appointing temporary justices? It worked for Trump to bypass the confirmation process on the executive side.

The whole point of recess appointments according to Alexander Hamilton is to "nothing more than a supplement . . . for the purpose of establishing an auxiliary method of appointment, in cases to which the general method was inadequate."

I'd say the Senate abdicating their role in confirmation puts the method of appointment into a state of inadequacy.

As far as I'm aware that's not how the system works. The Senate gets quite a prominent role in the judiciary.

The next situation wasn't similar. R POTUS + R Senate =/= D POTUS + R Senate.

Sorry Mitch owns you (and the entire Democratic party as well)

This was great. White house is the one trying to paint the court as unethical. She even gets a dig in on him for his whites only beach club. This is good.

I already said what I think above. Twice. Read it again.

It looked to me that he cut it short when he realized he wasn't going to be able to hit her with a "gotcha".

Yeah. Whitehouse is prob the worst Senator out there. Total conspiracy theory artist with a sketchy past. Thrilled to see her ready for him.
