Yes, it is. The one thing I agree with Torpedo, err Bip, err dude that's not longer with us, is he's likely the top realistic S target on the board. Landing him would be of great significance.

Agreed. A duo of Gallegos and McClain with a project like Mencke sounds like a pretty solid safety class to me- though I would hold out hope that Brauntae Johnson can do what it takes to be a member of this class.

A New Jersey Catholic school kid with Stanford and Georgia in his top group is OK in my book. Don't love seeing Oregon and Tennessee in there too though. (Wont mention a couple of the others)

Who else would you consider realistic? Are Toure, Kaj Sanders, Ricardo Jones etc. still on the board?

Not lucky, but I asked Loy about Toure and he said the impression is OSU/PSU battle with little rumblings from the ND side. Disappointing, but Shuler is exception not the rule for Irvington so not surprising.

It's very early in the crootin szn so I'm not sure now is the time to make definitive statements about the board at any position. Which is what I was going back and forth on with Bip.

But, to answer the question specifically, I don't see a lot of national connection between that group and ND. No visits scheduled and not many interviews or writeups on them.

Gallegos making a weekend long unofficial after his entire coaching staff was on campus seems like a big deal. Other DB's expected to visit, so far, are Davis Andrews, Oliver Miles, McClain, Paul Mencke, and Kennedy Urlacher.

A name that I'm interested in beyond the obvious is Oliver Miles.

Very good all around athlete that'll be visiting for the B&G game. Again, these are the guys that you take along with McClain and Gallegos but could turn out to be something.

Also happens to be quite the long/triple jumper. As I said, very good all around athlete. Plays QB for his HS football team.

Every site bud. Unfortunately he committed to OSU beforehand. Sorry that you won’t be getting your 6 safeties

And to be fair, every place I read in the past couple of weeks said not to hold your breath.
